Michelin PS3s

I've just had 2 new front tyres fitted, Michelin PS3s. Not really had a chance to give them a good test yet but initially they seem great, less road noise than my old Kumho K17s and the ride feels slightly firmer - for the better.

But just wanting to confirm, these tyres aren't directional right?

I couldn't see any arrows on the sidewalls to say they were, but I noticed the tread pattern was facing opposite directions on my two tyres and I wanted to confirm this is ok?

Thanks

Did you get the w rated ones? Apparently they have stiffer sidewalls. My v rated ones are not as firm as pe2's.

I haven't got any but having browsed at images, it states "Outside" on the one side, which in effect makes them directional. And the tread varies from one edge to the other doesn't it?

No, it doesn't make them directional, it makes them asymetrical. Directional tyres are marked with an arrow stating the rotation.

With asymetric tyres, such as the michelins, you can put the wheel/tyre combo on any corner of the car without having to re-fit the tyre. Directional tyres can only go on one side of the car once fitted to the wheel.

I see what you mean but it still means they can be fitted incorrectly. Which is what I was getting at.

only if the tyre fitter puts them on the wrong way. Otherwise you can put them on any corner.
