Mintys 182 turbo

Afternoon all, thought I would post some pics up of how is car is coming along since being sold to me from Toms_clio on here...
Needed a few bits doing and I will list what I have done and hopefully move this to a project thread soon as I have more plans,

Here goes.
this my old 182.

Sold that for my current 172 for cheaper insurance and the 172 had more desirable mods.

Needed a new windscreen...

Steering wheel was tiny so I brought this much more comfortable one.

Next was a new interior, purchased off here for £50 which I thought was a bargain just needed to change the looms over and belt clips

much better!
Also serviced it and changed the tyres to pilot sport3s which are brilliant and kuhmo v700s on the rear, very sticky!!
will keep this updated as I said when more things happen.

I hate turinis normaly but the look very good on a BG especially red..

Surprised that with the mods it was cheaper to insure TBH

Yeah it wasn't a bad interior just a bit bland, probably held better than these ph1 leathers

yeah seen your williams about looks lovely, got some willy wheels myself dont look right on my car tho think im gonna put 2118s back on it suspension is set up for 15s anyway

Nice to see it wasn't broke (i thought it was), does it still have the throttle bodies? This was possibly the nicest Ph2 on here tbh.

it had an rs2 inlet, still only 1 throttle body but yeah, thats not on it now, and yeah i am wanting to have it looking just like it was when it was sold, hence me wanting 2118s and needs a new passenger wing as it has some sort of cracking all over it

Ahh yeah that was it, forgot it had the RS2 not bodies!

Ann yeh I saw you the other day, nah only done 1 and we only got 35 mins on track out of a 2.5 hour session!

Update!!
just got the car back from Engine Dynamics in Braintree, let the photos show whats been done...
Before

Engine out...

Steam Cleaned bay.

New bottom end shells fitted aswell as pistonrings and a new clutch

FMIC

TURBOOO, still running it in but it drives very well and boost is perfect, very happy all in all and would recommend Engine Dynamics for any work you need doing, from services to full engine conversions.

Yeah didn't wanna say too much just wanted it done first lol, it drives really well brilliant job been done, power is 230bhp and 218 ft lbs of torque, which is enough!

Really happy with it, just want the thread title changed to 'mints 172 turbo'

Just ask a mod or admin and they'll do it for ya.

I'm sure that's plenty power wise. How does it drive to standard?

Whats planned for future mods?

yeah i pm'd a mod to ask about it.
the car drives like the boost should be there its very impressive, feels very smooth and well mapped out. ill take u out when its all run in and done.

as for future mods there isnt any really, maybe do the pistons and the clutch and take it to 280 bhp but its more than enough for now, just gonna keep it well maintained, needs tyres, pads and subframes for the buckets, but apart from that i will just be enjoying it for now.

NIGHTMARE!!

took the Clio out on Tuesday give it a few more miles to run it in, met a friend and took him for a quick spin, came back to the car park where we met and it was chucking out loads of blue smoke so its gone back, defective turbo picking it up tomorrow, (Saturday) with new turbo fitted!

Just over 3k but had clutch done and bottom end bearings and piston rings changed

Yeah runs sweet, need to do another 500 miles then change oil and take it back to check the boost and the whole conversion over then she's all set and done!

This is the very kit I'm looking into having on mine. Is that 3k including fitting? Look forward to seeing how it goes, nice one
