Mobile Phone Contract Thread.

I've moved contract a few times, was with Mozillion for a long time but people would complain that call quality wasn't great. Ended up going back to iD Mobile but they're borderline useless when I'm at work in Leeds, data is mega slow and struggle to get calls through.

Ended back up at Mozillion and touch wood improvements all around this time. Plus they seem to be sorting out the account portal now, looked pretty bad before.

Not sure if this will interest anyone but this is a 3 Mobile data only SIM. It gives you 80GB a month until October next year for a one off fee of £30 instead of £90. I’ve just bought one for my head unit in my car.

Plus they don't increase the price annually, and you get roaming included.

Been on the same plan since 2023, only I only get 30gb as its on the 2023 terms

I've just gone from EE to giffgaff and giffgaff data is rubbish so just gone back to EE as the saving of £8 per month wasn't worth it as might as well just had a Nokia brick

GiffGaff uses o2, which is the worse mobile operator I’ve ever used, it just never works.

o2 are finding themselves in the poop after all the crazy price hikes.

Ive been with them, no joke, 17 years. Im currently paying about £25/month, sim only for 70gb. Its far more than everywhere else, but I do get good signal and the roaming thing is pretty handy when im away.

Im out of contract, so I go on their 'upgrade thing' only to be shown that they're doing a half price for 12 months deal. Okay, cool, that takes me down to about £21/month for 12 months. But, after the 12 months, im at £33 a month! Sim only!

Better still, if you go on a comparison site, they're offering 32gb for £8 a month. Absolute pricks.

Oh and of course, their live chat is an hours wait. I hate this s**t.

I’ve been on O2 for years. Every year, I go to Uswitch and pick whatever deal is around £8. It’s usually about 30-40 Gb. f**k going direct to O2, as you’ve found out.

Their live chat was proper pulling teeth.

Took me an hour to get through to someone. They then offered me a "deal" that was ridiculous. Something like 50 gig for 22.50 a month. Yeah, right...

Told them about the online deal. They denied it. I sent them the link. Still denied it. Politely informed they were an idiot. Eventually agreed it. Then said they would match it, bonza.

But wait. Only if I signed up to a 24 month contract, not 12 as per the deal ON THEIR OWN WEBSITE. Refused the deal otherwise.

Utterly utterly painful.

The U-Switch ones are always for new customers only aren't they?

How easy is it to port numbers nowadays to different companies. I've looked a few sites for their coverage and most show ok for 3/4g but none have 5g yet where I live apart from EE & O2.

The O2 ones are for anyone. Like I said, I do it every year. when you select the plan on Uswitch you’re taken to O2 and are asked something like “Are you a new customer or an existing wanting to upgrade“.

As for moving, it’s piece of oiss these days. Text for a PAC, enter it into new supplier website. Done.

I ported my number from o2 to ID, no problem at all.

I just gave ID the PAC code, and they did the rest
