"Mate, sorry to tell you but I very much doubt your car is running that bhp do you have an rr printout?"

"WHAT? PRICKS. You're a bunch of stuck up children."

This is what just happened

To be fair it's not his fault if he has been spoon fed a load of crap! I have mapped a 182 years ago on another dyno and it made over 200, went to a DD and made 185.....

I still lol at the people that spend 10k on their engines and then get a print out from the same people who carried out the work.

Yes because they are going to tell you, your car only gained 50bhp for 10k! (this doesn't apply to genuine garages)

Obviously the 70% of people on here with the usual basic mods (cat back/remap/induction kit) are jealous because we didn't get 220bhp? I kinda feel emabarrased for him to be honest, once he realises that he's wrong and he's been taken for a ride.

can't get on ebay at work but it certainly seems his attitude isn't helping matters.

He really should consider taking the car to another RR and get a print out. Then when it shows approx 160 to 175BHP he can complain to the people that "tuned" the car rather than shouting his mouth off at people that are only trying to help (in thier own Cliosport standard kinda way lol)

Thing is Cliosport is a forum of miserable shallow minded kants. There's no need to e-mail telling him the Bhp is wrong!

Whilst i agree the Bhp he's proposing seems unrealistic, it's only what he's been told. GDI were pulling this stunt for years!

RR's are; at the end of the day tools, providing you use the same one pre and post mods it doesn't matter.

Not to single out Paul here but i personally hate DD rollers, to me they run low! I've been RR days where stock 172's/182's/197's/DC2's all make book BHP on one set of rollers. Are you honestly going to tell me that this roller is inaccurate in comparison to another set?!

im really staggered by this

id love to have the money to prove him wrong

take it to TDF and offer him these odds

if the car makes 200BHP + pay him £3k

under 200HP

get the car for £1k

Can guarantee he wouldn't take because he'll soon realise he's been taken for an idiot by the "motor-sport specialists" and been fed a load of lies

I admire what you're doing. You've got an idea and you're sticking with it. (Even if you've been at it 10 years! lol)

Usual CS Modification police banging on slating you. Ignore them, if they had theirway we'd all be driving round in the same cars.

Aye, maybe so - but having them run low is far far better than having them majorly optimistic in my eyes. With the mods he's got, once you know whats achievable at least you can do a before and after

Maybe so, but running low is better than overly optimistic, don't you think? At least then when you hit a decent target, you know it's making good power. I don't think it matters really in most cases though as long as you get a before and after run.

This is slightly different because his figures going by the mag are mega inflated

Not really. You're hardly doing to advertise your car as "2006 clio 182 Cup with 175Bhp!" are you? On the basis where you don't know the power or it does indeed run under book, i certainly wouldn't be forthcoming about it.

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Right then: I apologise in advance for the geniune people on here that read this, but you can have a read to have a laugh.

Here is to all of the people from CLIOSPORT Forums that really dont like me very much by the looks of it. Pictures of the ROLLING ROAD PRINT OUTS WILL BE PUT ON TONIGHT along with every picture of everything that comes with the car.

The "mention" of being in the magazine has put a lot of peoples backs up, with such comments of "being in the magazine doesnt mean s***" No...you are wrong, it shows how much effort the people that build the cars go to..and..IT DOES prove to PRICKS like you what the car has got and what plans we have for the vehicles, suppose your thinking back to the day of "once its featured, were finished"..max power days are LONG GONE!

Thanks for the great laughs you have given me and friends, myself and other people I know have been a member of a few forums and they have never EVER seen a professional forum act so irresponsible and childish. ClioSport Forum Owners, you should be very proud how much crap your members are actually getting you into and showing that your forum is nothing but a load of stuck up children.

Nobody in the UK EVER quotes wheel figures as they are low and difficult to measure using twin roller dynos. Every BHP figure you ever see in any UK car details is a fly figure.

Any RR proof up yet?

What!? Other way around mate. Wheel figures is the only accurate representation of power?! The majority of rollers measure wheel Bhp and then calculate the drag into a 'fly figure.

Please please PLEASE do not get into this argument. Yes, its the wheel BHP that is measured acurately, but that is not the figure people use. You can obtain wheel figures in multiple different ways getting mutliple different readings, but if the calculations on transmissions and dyno drag are correct, they should always produce the same calculated fly value.

Its a long conplicated conversation I dont want to get into, but my point is this:

Clio 172, 182, 197, 200 are all Flywheel BHP (well, PS, but you get the idea) figures. All BHP figures stated for UK cars are flywheel figures. All manufacturers use the fly figure in their official stats, and all tuners use it too. Therefore it is also the default figure used for anyone selling something, so it fair to assume that when this guy goes "running 220bhp innit!" he is talking fly, which in his case, is 51bhp above the manufacturer fly figure, which is epic LOL! :)

Thanks for the technical view point there. And yes, i am aware that published figures are ATF. My arguement was against your comment that AWT figures are difficult to measure, not true.

The inaccuracies on any RR come into play when the conversion from Wheel to fly Bhp is calculated. I've seen 20-30-40% losses through the transmission. Giving wacky ATF figures ^ like the above no doubt!

Overall point is; for the mods the figure above is inconsistent with what the average F4R can make.

Sorry Ali, I should have been more specific, I meant that measuring a representative on the road wheel figure is difficult with a dyno due to the rollers and other drags. Running 120bhp at the wheel on a roller doesn't mean you will have 120bhp at the wheel on the road, whereas getting an accurate fly figure will (should) translate to the same on the road.

Different dynos can produce all sorts of different drag values, the key point is accommodating that in the calculation of the fly figure.

In fairness to the lad I've seen the (overly exaggerated) RR print-out. It's a shame he's come across as such a tool 'cos the cars actually quite nice in the metal.

Look on your face when you plant your foot......PRICELESS!

because you just realised you have 175 hp

To right, mine does that with just a group n exhaust with print out to prove. Knowing you've wasted all of money on all those mods... priceless

Isn't he selling this car? If so, what does it matter to anyone on here what power it makes? No one is going to buy it, are they?

Email abuse achieves nothing except confirm his suspicions of the mentality and apparent age range of this forum.

So he comes across as a bit of a tool, but he'll sell that car to someone who generally believes it has 220 bhp.

I say good luck to him. It might be a pup, but the graph will cause tentage in the teen/twentysomething that goes to view it.

Thing is most people believe the figures, a guy on zsoc was thinking about buying a "200bhp remapped" Clio 182.
