Clio 197
Hi all,
I returned to the CS fold after buying my Titanium 182 in early December after selling my WRX.
Initially i had wanted a FF 182 but after coming across this Titanium 182 i realised that the cup packs are only minor improvements that i could manage without.
Some pictures from the seller;
Managed a quick clean up in between the rain storms we have had recently, I also replaced my plates as the others were looking a bit tired - also check out how misaligned they are - as soon as i noticed that they had to come off asap!;
Picked up some new matts courtesy of my other half
The first time i had it on the motorway (other than my drive home) when exiting a sliproad the engine light decided to come on. Thanks to LeeShez who read the codes for me, the code reader gave me P0420 (Cat Efficiency) which left me thinking cat / lambda issue, finger crossed but so far the light hasnt come back (1 week later).
It had the old issue with the Climate Control not working which i was fully aware of when buying it. This proved a bit of a pain on the drive home with the windows constantly steaming up.
Quickly got on the case with replacing the resistor itself after reading symptoms on here, this didnt work and after some playing about with a multimeter the motor itself was dead. Decided to source a complete motor / resistor pack and wiring loom in order to fix the issue.
So at the weekend i replaced the motor and it ran on full speed all the time so replaced the resistor pack and the climate was fully working - happy days!
This weekend i also gave the engine an oil & filter / sump washer change using Elf Evolution SXR 5w40, weirdly Renault only stocked 1 ltr bottles so had to buy 5, got 15% discount though which helped.
I also gave my exhaust pipes (milltek) a wire wool / autosol clean up, they have come up a bit better but not perfect - ideally i wanted to clean the inside too but after seeing the resistance it put up compared to my freezing fingers i decided to save that battle for another day!
At the moment i have no solid plans other and engine bay tidy up and a wheel refurb - planning to stick to silver i think, i enjoy the whole clean silver look. I have been thinking about lowering but don't want to ruin the ride as its quite firm at the moment (could be tired shocks though).
