More exhaust noise

I just bought a nice SS back box with a decent bore tip and now it's fitted there's almost no noise change, I had to mod it slightly to fit so I can't take it back. It looks amazing but sounds stock for some reason unless you have your ear right up to the exhaust then it kind of burbles, is there ANYTHING I can do to get a bit more noise from it? I don't care what it is because I'm just really disappointed it doesn't have any more noise than stock, thanks

Get it decatted, or just buy a second hand SS system?

My cat is part of my down pipe I have the e7j engine, would it make a difference if I removed the centre box and changed it for a straight pipe?
