Just found the D3000 on pre order with the 18 - 55 lens kit for £499. That sounds like a good deal to me. Although a bit expensive for a starter.

dual format memory card
faster continuous shooting
and some extra buttons and settings.

Maybe some extra stuff that I have missed out but I don't think there is a massive difference overall.

nope nothing at all. will expect to see dual card slots on canons in the future I bet after nikon doing it with this. makes sense though if the entry level cameras are SD cards
