More repairs...Cry!

Dropped the valver off this morning to fix the vague steering, balljoints and some strange sqealing from the engine and just got the dreaded phonecall....needs a new power steering rack so total is £782!!

Cannot believe it...everytime that car goes near a garage it puts me closer to bankruptcy :( Itd be oh-so easy to think about selling it....

  Corsa 2.0 16v baby

get the parts second hand from someones whos breakin or try getting the parts yourself from GFS who r well cheap! ;)

Cheers m8 but had to tell them to go ahead - the car felt too dangerous to drive in its current state and i need it quickly (stay in aberdeen and deliverys always seem to take about a week to reach me) :( Im sure this will be the last major thing to be done on it.......haha!

£782 !!

Mate I was in your shoes a few years back with an old 205 GTi, I loved the car (still do till this day) but I had to let it go as it put me into major bankruptcy.

My advise is get rid of it..pay off any debt then get a new/nearly new car.. it works out so much cheaper in the long run.

Aye - ive been seriously thinking about it these past few weeks but im not sure - nearly everything will have been replaced now and thats no joke - engine reconditioned, new clutch, zorst, suspension, alloys, cooling system and now the steering. Seriously - what else could go wrong? With all that in mind itd be someone else getting the best of it.....

Unsure...i wouldnt say no to a V6 or GTT like...

i know how u feel mate ive got in to so much debt after buying a 16v clio ! the repair bills just kept mounting up gearbox clutch steering rackthe list goes on ... im tryna sell mine now its been running sweet for 3 months but i need to pay my debt off.Dont wanna sell her but theres more to life than my clio

I can sympathise with you big time! I bought my 1993 valver in October for £2750, took it to my local Renault specialist who told me if needed £1200 worth of jobs doing on it....bloody everything needed replacing..serpentine and cam belt, heatshield, discs...blah blah blah..so far Ive spent £2000 getting it spic and span then another few hundred on lowering it..

Clutch went the other month and the steering column was replaced the other week...please let that be it!!! I cant sell it now cos Id lose too much money on it. Its a great car to drive though, puts a smile on my face when I throw it into a roundabout or take some scally in his Nova........1 year and counting until the Fiat Coupe 20v..;)
