just thought i cud make this post easier to understand :p

is it possible that 17s give better fuel economy?

went for a drive earlier today - clocked 99.9mpg at 50mph

63mpg at 60mph (normal "Irish" roads)

went back to 58mpg at 70 mph (motorway)

anybody else getting higher?

no need being shy just cus you have a diesel - remember its a DCi - it CAN shift! :D

You can get realy high number like 99.9 but you need to leave it a few miles to settle most likely you were only doing about 60mpg.

The bigger rims assuming there work out to be a larger mean that at high speed your doing less revs which is more economical.

It takes some time befoe the computer gives an accurate indication for MPG I wouldnt trust it till 10 miles after Id reset it minimum.

My dci 65 is getting 59mpg at the moment and sicne Ive owned it its getting 55mpg. This hot weather helps fuel economy but means less power.

Ive seen over 120mpg in a courtesy car once (I worked it out to somewhere over 120) but that was 25~30mph in top and the engine realy wasnt liking it.
