Took dads new toy to Bedford on Monday and this car is a beast of a vehicle @NorthloopCup you were right there is a massive difference between a 182 and this I was amazed about how much grip this car has. The gearbox is so cool and makes a massive difference to the performance and drive.
Here's some pictures of the car. You might recognise the car :)

Bit of work to be done on the trailer to smarten it up and a few things on the car needs sorting but the car is in such good nick it really has been looked after well
Me and dad have decided these two are the tick tac crew lol

Oh yes!! Nice work mate, and yeah I recognise that car!

Don't break that sadev!! Lol! I can rebuild them, but the parts cost are heartbreak territory.

Cheers mate dads over the moon with it.

Haha no mate we look after it very well. That's good to know mate we are going to get it inspected regularly because like you say they are very expensive to fix.
It was checked before we got it and they said it was in pretty much brand new condition inside. Gearbox oil changes all the time :)

Noice. Would love to see one of these compared to a normal well spec'd track clio and see what the difference is.

Ahhh we bailed on it in the end for a number of reasons. And just as well I think I saw the organisers on Facebook and it looked soaked. I didn't really fancy learning Silverstone in the rain.

  Clio 220 PH2
Fair enough mate silverstone is a fast old track I don't blame you especially how twitchy the back ends are on the clios
Have you got another one planned instead ?

It's amazing there's such a difference between a track car and a true race car because it's the little things on top that just put it on another level
Yeah it's such a cool thing and great fun to use

Yeah absolutely. Had a go in an Escort rally car with a sequential box a couple of years ago, just a totally different experience to my car. A "proper" car just feels entirely different, just so focused.

Yeah they do put a smile on your face :)
I agree they are only build for one reason and that's to go fast :)

The 182 and the 200 have finally met.

IMG_0143.JPG

Today has been a race car sort of day, both clios have been in the workshop having a few things done, the green one has had its brakes stripped, cleaned a re-greased and the plan was to sort the rear door card out that had dropped off, also the trim on the dash and some gold reflective tape under the bonnet but never got round to it also I need to sort the 12v socket out that doesn't work and tidy the wiring up under the dash as something is rattling.
The orange car had under the wheel arches cleaned of any rubber pick up, the wheels were cleaned front and back and the brakes were stripped and cleaned, the car will shortly have oil and filter done and some fresh gearbox oil and a good clean inside.
IMG_0144.JPG

There are new wheels coming for the 182 really not a fan of the standard ones so I will be ordering some white 16" team dynamics for it just for the road and keep the green ones for track work and then maybe use the standard wheels for wets at a later date
More pictures to come of both cars soon :)

Wheels have been ordered today for the 182 should be here in 5 weeks fingers crossed
Been playing with the cup racer learnering about the car seeing what's what and doing some cleaning under the wheel arches and what not. Also it needs a new expansion tank as there's a crack in the current one so I have ordered one of them today. Had to take the bumper off to get to the header tank bolt find that a very odd design myself not sure why they didn't design it so it faced the other way so the bumper can stay on.
Some pictures of the car in its current state
IMG_0758.JPG

In an odd way they do look cool without the bumpers on haha #truecupracerstyle
IMG_0756.JPG

I also removed the washer bottle because it was held together with duck tape and leaking lol
On a side note I was looking st the car and this shot looks wicked all the suspension components and brakes how it all looks just so right really like the engeering that has gone into these cars
IMG_0760.JPG

Something about it looks right
IMG_0759.JPG

And this is my handy work with the clean rag, shame about the stone chips but I suppose this can not be helped

What kind of spec is an X85 racer compared to a road car?
I would say a good chunk of it is different I haven't really spent much time around the road car but looking at it, the wiring harness, dash sususpension, gearbox, geo, not sure if the hub assembly is different ?
Mr @NorthloopCup might be able to shed some more light on this question I am still learning about the 200 to be honest

In terms of bodyshell, they pulled them off the line before they got any stonechip protection and removed all the unused bracketry.
Wiring is cup racer specific throughout.
Suspension up front is essentially the same, but they had roll centre correction etc. Coilover rear is obviously cup racer specific.
Engine is a standard motor built to blueprint and 200bhp (yeah my arse they are). All sealed up as per toca regs. They run the oe exhaust manifold, but they don't have the pre cat fitted in them.

That's about your lot off the top of my head.

Thanks mate, interesting to know. Do you know how they did the roll centre correction?

Slightly different note, do you know much about the R3 Clio? I know you have spent plenty of time looking at the engines, but was curious about the suspension etc.

Little update :)
Cup racer is all serviced, engine coolant changed, oil and filter done and the gearbox oil changed. Car is all back together front slicks changed as the old ones had flat spots :( shame because they had good life left in them. Plus a good clean seems the flies like the front of this car.

It's all loaded up on the trailer ready for the Nurburgring

Now I just need to sort my car out :)
Plus I have a few stickers to put on them both.

The new wheels for my car (182) should be here on Wednesday fingers crossed, swap the tyres over on Saturday fitted to the car Sunday is the plan.

Bought some new ear defenders for the trip to the Nurburgring try to avoid hearing damage lol

Wheel update soon :)

  Supercharged AG 200
Thank you for the pictures they look wicked I will pass these onto my dad. Really happy with the car it has been well looked after
Also thank you for the kind words
Cheers
Ben
no probs mate.....

Gav only used her a few times on track. I swapped him my trophy (in the photo) for his AG, but when I picked it up I was drooling over the X85.

Look forward to seeing the progress and updates for both your track toys

When we went to look at it you can tell it's been looked after and not been used as a bumper car like a lot of them end up being used as. Gav was spot on really open about the car and like you say only used it a few times.
I must admit when I saw it I was drooling too haha

I followed your build thread of the trophy I loved that car I nearly bought it when it came up for sale. Love your AG would love one, one day

Thank you hopefully some new bits coming for the cup racer through the winter just deciding how much to do to it without spoiling it.

1st picture shows how narrow the cup racers were on the rear! Never noticed that before tbh! Also shows how much better they look with body colour mirror caps, and dare I say it, I think I prefer it without the grey wrap.....

2nd picture is just full of win! The trophy really does look epic!!

@Ben NBR Cup put your iPod earphones in the ear defenders, but not in your ear. The defenders will act as an amphitheater. I used to find that the in ear headphones made my ears hurt after so long, but doing it the other way worked well enough!
You doing a DN day?

Yes they do look skinny at the back. The front is my favourite it just looks chunky in a good way love it :)

The three together do look stunning :)

Good idea mate I will do that, my ears hurt when I have head phones in as well, I fitted a speaker in the car but can not hear it lol.
Yes mate doing the 2 day DN event plus the DN event at Blister Burg the day after :)
