My Bora is looking pretty RUF these days...

  Meg 250/E36 Touring
Gotta love a modified Bora!

Mate of mine's just got a mint Dark Blue Hi-line and is planning some subtler mods - the Passat W8 alloys and american spec front bumper. Should look good

  Listerine & Poledo
I might be planning a Spanish-Bora mini-project.

I'll keep an eye on the bora crowd to see what the golf-saloon enhancements are....which dont involve r****d-geometry or sump-masher ride heights

  S3 Sportback, Ninja
The Bora really is a horrible looking car standard, however lowered on a decent set of wheels like yours looks awesome mate.

Cheers fellas, bit of an update!

I BROKE IT ALREADY.

2 Days of these wheels on it, driving it low. Well, discounting when I had the MAM's on it. First casualty is a lot of the underneath, random bits of plastic hanging and bits I've had to rip off. But the main one is a suspected driveshaft. Gearbox end. These do go, pretty common.

Knocking started on Sunday, although fairly faint. I thought it was some chunky plastic bouncing off the floor. Didn't really mind, I'm used to the dog bone mount taking chunks out the floor. However, come monday morning on my way to work it started to get louder. My colleague and I agree'd it was drive chain related, seemed to be under load (Accelerating and decelerating). Fast you go the faster the KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK noises. Will strip it down at the weekend, but for now, I'll be getting a lift in a friends Alfa. The irony.

You'll struggle then. The only way to make a VAG saloon look anywhere remotely close to decent is by having it touch the floor.

BTCC-spec Toledo I'm thinking.

Even the touring car boys have ground clearance enough to not rip their mechanicals out over a weekend.

Guessing you live somewhere in the MK direction judging by some of your pics? Northampton myself...

Might talk to you some time about tips for lowering my Mk4 Golf.......

Oh scrooge do PM me!

And I'm from Near Oxford way, work in Milton Keynes in composites. And as said, I'm used to low cars, was just a surprise to f**k it so early. Engine raisers needed!

It looks better when its driving low so it's a pretty legit way of looking at things IMO. The knocking is so bad now, just limped it to my grans house. Had people stop, point and gasp at it scraping at 5mph up her road. Not sure if it was the scraping, or the KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK noises.

Also had to park up on her gravel drive, reach under, and dig out a patch of gravel so when I dumped it, it didn't rest on the sump. THOUGHTFUL OWNERSHIP.

Okay, I need to update this thread me thinks!

So I've been to the Stanceworks meet and Early edition and these are pictures I've found of it on the interwebs and such! I've fitted orange side indicators now, as apposed to the clear ones.

Work done since I was last on here:

- Engine Raised
- Plastic stuff removed underneath
- Chassis Notch extended

I also had my friend make me a skid plate type thing that bolted under the car to cover the dogbone mount, so I stopped digging up the road.

This is what it looked like after 2 days.

Took it off as It bent up and started rattling against my dogbone mount. Also, the wheels are off for a bit mainly because of this...

So while they're off they will get a refurb. I'm thinking Renault Storm Grey.... opinions?

Got a puncture in Milton Keynes (I think, did run over glass) didn't realise I had one until Buckingham, a good 10-15miles of hooning after a friend from work later... When I felt that the cars handling was just getting worse and worse, I pulled over and the tyre was smoking like a b**ch and STANK of burning rubber. Epic fail on my behalf and on the police's behalf for not sweeping the glass up.

Meh, I just recycled it and got like a tenner, new budget tyre was only £60 fitted and balanced. Wheel needed a fair bit of weight though :(

This was the plate we made to stop the dogbone taking chunks out of the road

The paint was something I did yesterday, mainly as I still had some chrome paint and some matt black in the garage. Waste of time as it's all scraped off.

  Whichever has fuel
This may be a bit of a daft idea, but surely to stop all these shenanigans, just raise it up a tiny bit before you drive off?!

I do! If I drove it like you see in that picture... well it wouldn't drive. As the wishbones sit on the floor. So I drive it at about 30psi up front and 20psi at the rear. Then for longer journeys add about 10psi to both.

Still has no ground clearance when driving though, love it.

No I like driving low :(. The look you get from people of a certain vintage as you scrape down the road. You'd have thought I'd just curled one out on their grannies head.

About that. Sometimes a tad lower. Poor shot, I know. But the wishbone and dogbone mount sit lower than the splitter, sills etc. Bit annoying.
