My cup, Smacked by a MINI????

Had a smash in the cup this evening,

Was in right hand land of dual carriageway doing bout 50 odd, and was alongside a mini that decided that he was going to overtake without looking in his mirrors or even tuning his f**king head! Pulled straight across and hit the front of my car, as it was only a little mini i punted it into the barrier and he bounced back and hit all of the other side of my car.

Damage is as follows.......

Smashed front bumper and fog
Broken headlight
Broken front splitter
New arch Offside
Bent door, neds whole new door
Scuffed 1/3 quarter
cracked sideskirt and dented sill.........

Oh and i need two new turinis too...........

What you reckon the cost will be?? For all of the above spryed fitted etc?

Door is bent away from the frame and shuit lines have moved on door and bonnet. The steering wheell sits 90d to the right and the car constantly wants to pull right.

The guy got out and admitted liability apologising profusely, i wanted to drop him where he stood.

His car was soo mangled it was unreal!!

To top it all off spent 2 hours in hospital and have strained a muscle in the top of my sholder and side of my neck. Now im gonna be off work for a couple of days too :dead:

Yeah i was thinking its a possible write off coz of all the additional damage to the stering components and the fact the panel are no longer matching up, could be some chassis damagew somewhere.

Ah well, im alive, and hes lucky he is!!!

I have GAP insurance on the car, just checked the certificate and its for £8000 so prob more than the cars worth, its a 52 thats just done 40k and is an absolute minter.

What you reckon its worth (undamaged)

Your obviously not the stig as he would of avoided this collision!!
If you've got gap insurance this will cover the difference, oh by the way if he has totally owned up saying its his fault you'll be fine, silly gay mini drivers!!!

shut line is ****ed on drivers door

Majority of the impact was on the door/wing join at the sill as you can see

Scuffs like this the whole way down the side of the car

Headlight is out of line, cracked and all brackets have snapped

Quite impressed to how the front end held the impact, tho got s**t loads of warning lights on on dash.....

Not a very good pic but both turinis have chunks out of em....

a red mini was it lol, theres traces of his car everywhere, must be gutting to see ya car like this, it must be driveable as i'm guessing its on your drive

Hopefully it can be thrown onto a jig and all straightened up if that's what's making the doorline out

proper one, it was a real mess, was releived when the guy got out, then i wanted to stove his head in lol

Not sure if theres any major damage but something is def bent underneath, the stering wheels i 90d round and wheels are straight and car wants to pull to the right constantly....
drove it home at 10 mph coz was making som awful noises and was waiting for the airbag to smack me in the face lol

Have to wait and see.......

doesnt look half as bad in pics as what you made out in initial description. i would be very suprised if they wrote it off.

it looks worse than it is, as its got the red paint etc from other car, but i bet most of that will polish out. what doesnet will juts get filled/fixed/repainted.

so it might not be as bad as you think!

same thing happend to ma mate in a mk2 golf gti a priest pulled out on him on a dual carrigeway accepted responsibility, his car was in mint condition.

anyway insurance offered him £1000 for his he knocked it back and found cars the same age for more and showed the insurance company basically he got over 2 grand for it off the insurance,

then he got his car back and broke it up and made another small fortune by selling doors interior and so on its

its worth a try knocking back the first offer cause you may get more hope you get it sorted and this helps

Sorry to hear about the accident Dave, one positive to take from it is that you hit him and hes claimed responsibility, my missus had a almost idenitical accident expect she sweared to avoid the driver and ended up in the barrier herself and he drove off. Got hit with a £11,000 claim due to write off and barrier expenses. They never traced the other car
