Paint looks superb. You don't need sun to show it off.

What suspension does it run? I've forgotten.

I think my only criticism is the back lights and the number plates. Plain number plates keep things tidy.

Back Lights? Im guessing you mean Facelift ones? They do look a little Lexus-ish but pre facelift dont work too well either IMO. At least they look fresh?

You detailers hate the plates with GB. TBH I wouldnt mind a K20 XXX Plate, was intended to be my first purchase, but my Clutch when, and K20 JKP (my initials) has gone. Maybe one day.

What do you mean by suspension? Its just lowered on ABP/Eibach 30mm springs. I've got Camber arms/Bolts too fit and then I'll get a fast road set up and possibly a JDM Rear Anti Roll Bar and then the suspension will be sorted. Cant afford Coilovers TBh.

Thanks Chris

It sits superb height wise mate.

Buy coilovers then make it daily then sell it. ;)

Nah the lights are okay. Much better than the older ones. Just take abit of getting used to and yeah GB plates suck balls.

This is how a plate should look...

The ones on it are just dealer ones.

I think plain would look better, But theres a long list of stuff to do!

Thing is, its all stuff Im sure I can do myself, but Im scared to take my wheels off lmao!

Im not exactly impressed by how it handles bumps just on springs, but it sits perfect and with a FRSU I'm sure it will handle fine!

I would like to pick up a 2003 Diesel Clio or Bora TDI for work, but Im not sure the CTR is a special enough car to have as a 2nd car. It gets ruined at work!

Bumps? Had the tracking done?

You'd be mental (IMO) to run it as a second car! Can you not get a better parking space???

I wouldnt run this as a second car, unless I stripped and tracked it, although without sounding big headed, I think this is too nice if an example to strip and track, when I could pick up a pre facelift for £3k and use that?

Im getting all the tracking done with FRSU when I get my camber arms fitted :)

Just out of interest mate, how much is your insurance a year? Ive got mine coming up and I think it's gone up! :(

  BG DCI
Lovely car, have owned a fast Honda and know how good the vtec is!

Only thing I personally don't like is the type r written everywhere on the car. think its all a bit too much

Looks very nice though and so clean. JDm wheels are FTW though! Maybe some Rota slips have always been a favourite of mine!

Thanks Gaz, thing is, £150 for Spacers, £200 for a refurb and the fact I need tyres soon, means I might as well buy some asfter market wheels in a different offset?

Robinho: I think the owners club stickers are coming off to be replaced with some smaller ones.

Today me and my mate did my front Calipers. I went for the subtle black as opposed to Red, as I dont think the calipers are sexy enough to show off. We ground them back with a wire attachment in the drill and then wire woolder them. They were then masked off and painted with an E-Tech caliper kit.

I also gave the wheels and inside the arches a quick once over (Very quick, when the wheels go for the re furb, Ill Bare Bones the entire suspension/arch assembly) and I autosol'd the stock wheel nuts.

Please excuse the horrific state of the alloys, they are in terrible condition, but every thing came at once last month and I havent been able to get them done :(

Poor pics as it was getting dark. These are the Premier edition calipers with Type R embossed on them, I may get the R painted red at a later date.

Dont change the looks at all imo, nice wheel refurb and get the car looking mint.

Miss my old cosmic just ashame it wasnt a prem

Milano red looks council to me. All the council estate boys seem to have a 52 plate red(pink) one. Whenever I see a shed Type R, its always red. Shame cause when its kept on top of, it looks pretty cool, especially with anthracite wheels

I think the Grey looks the classiest out of the 5 avaliable colours (Well as Classy as a Type R Driven by a 24 year old spikey haired lad can lol).

I booked the refurb in @ Laptab next Thursday, but I've got take my Dad into hospital that day so will have to re schedule, Im on holiday this week, but waiting in for a washing machine tomorrow :( Im going to poop by the office in a minute and see if I can get a day off next week.

I then may space the wheels out around 10mm, add Red Alloy wheel nuts and JDM wind deflectors and thats the outside done.

When the wheels are done, I think I'll be happy with the exterior of the car, The Suspension set up should be done soon (I want to add a Tegiwa Rear Tie Bar in Red, purely for looks too). Im thinking of leabing the power how it is, Im with admiral at the moment (till October) who are a pretty cool insurance company, but I'm not sure how they will be when I start mentioning manifolds and KPros. So Im thinking of leaving the power side of things as it is, until I renew with a more specialist modifciation friendly insurance company. Although I noticed this on the bay....

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sportex-H...&otn=4&po=LVI&ps=63&clkid=7187201650455521944

Now Sportex are pretty poor I believe but how bad can a B Pipe be? Its Un silenced and a larger Diametre than stock, and has a 2 year Gaurentee, surely a B Pipe is just a Pipe? Obviously I wouldnt buy their manifolds/back box, but for £80??? Anyway.

So that leaves the interior. I dont want to change drastic things, But I will definately be putting a Touch Screen Double Din unit in, and possible adding some Componants to front doors....That brings me onto the Centre console....

Now the interior isnt very good at all in a Type R. I will be the first to admit that. I think Im lucky with the Recaros and Red Carpets , it looks ok, but its not exactly a nice place to be... Now everyone seems to wrap the Centre console in 3M Carbon Vinyl wrap, which is cool, but you can tell its a wrap, and I dont really like the "matte" effect you get. My stock centre console is in good condition (Im going to Citrus Power/APC it tomorrow to get the grime off) but the door handles have a few scratches.

My idea, which has more than likely been done before is to pick up a second hand Centre Console and door handles, and have them proffesionally sprayed Cosmic Grey and Laquered so they're the same finish as the exterior? I think it will look awesome, my mate says it will look like a Corsa B Interior that someones modified themself lol?

What do we think? I'd do it to a spare one so when I put the stock HU back in it would match?

  Hondata'd EP3 Type R
After searching through 19 pages of Interior modification areas on Civic Forums, I found someone who has done it

Just read the whole thread, loving the CTR! having come from one after a 182 there is just something about them, same as the cliosports. Whats on the cards next?

Mugen spoiler, spoon n1 surely :D ?

Really like the colour wish i went for cg rather then nhb!

Spoon N1 is a bit loud and Im not 100% on exterior bodywork mods, been there done that haha. I think you need after market wheels to pull off exterior mods too. Im all for modding cars, but I think the CTR is one of those cars that doesnt really improve with cosmetic mods. The Mugen spoiler is often put on I feel for JDM points, as opposed to looking better. As I mentioned earlier in the thread, here are hundreds of aftermarket wheels, but none really look better than the stock ones.its like an E46 M3 on the 19s, they just suit it!

As I say, ill get it mint, the wheel refurb should finish it off as its looking pretty neat now. I do want to sort put some spacing on the stock wheels and maybe some red nuts. Ill fit my camber bolts/arms and get a FRSU and then an oil change and spark plug change is due in 2k then a nice Pioneer double Din head unit and maybe some componants. Maybe some expensive and rare JDM mats and a look at the colour coded centre console. Ill probably order ES engine mounts tonight too lol.

In terms of increasing the power, I would like to do its all at once. It sounds nice with the filter but I of course would like more power. Potential list is:

RBC Inlet w/ adapter
70mm Throttle Body
Japspeed 421 Manifold
Manifold back exhaust
K100

That would see 240bhp on TDI's rollers with the all important Vtec engagement around 4800rpm :) However thats £2kish and Im looking at facelift Boxster S', so would be silly spending cash on a car i cant see me having next year?

Ill possibly end up doing everything but the power mods, and settle for an Un Silenced B Pipe and a CPL reflash purely to get the VTec engagement down and a touch more noise, thats do able for £500....

Could just hold out for one of Robs B-Pipes?

This is it though, I appreciate it isnt his full time job, but Im impatient at the best of times.... IF I want something, I order it, pay for next day delivery and have it. Cant be arsed with all this waiting around for him to reply to PM's etc etc

I nearly got a second hand one for £120 delivered, gutted I missed out tbh.

Know what you mean about waiting though, I nearly paid him for one a while ago, glad I didnt now as he's not doing them for a month or so.

I had my rear wheels off today to tidy up the calipers, and Ive taken a pic of the stock studs.

I want to run spacers all round, but not sure how much, so Ive ordered some none hub centric 10mm ones just to see what it looks like for now.

b7f88fa5.jpg

There is over 15mm of un touched stud, which is where the wheel sits, the stock wheel nuts are very small, but I want to confirm it is 100% safe on stock studs, if it isnt, ill scrap the idea till I can afford new studs.

Thanks

I bottled it and went for 5mm's all round!

Im getting my wheels refurbed in the week, what did you do regarding centre caps?

Thanks
