So earlier this year I managed to pickup a full fat 182 in rb.After much searching I found a reasonable one at a good price so we made the trip to go get it. Here’s the car as I brought it.

After using the car for a few months until the MOT ran out and with the cam belt being due I took it off the road to sort any issues and do the belt. Although I’m not very good at remembering to take pictures of everything here’s most of the stuff I collected.

This is all the pictures I got of parts but also got fresh gear oil , coolant, ATE type 200 brake fluid, genuine Renault front wheel bearings , fatty induction kit set up and probabley other stuff I can’t remember but you’re getting the idea:grin:
So I set about removing the engine and box from the car as well as all the front subframe.

Just realised how many photos I’m uploading to the about of text however I’m trying to cover a lot of work here to catch up to where I am without boring people

Now when it came to fitting the new cambelt and dephaser I had some help from a good relitive who has all of the correct timing tools and experience in timing this engines. I felt this was better than trying to tackle it myself and ensure it was done correctly. Pics of it all fitted and with the aux belt set up back on too.

Everything was then refitted to the car with the subframe including new steering rack pollybushes, pollybushed dog bone mount and the other new suspension components.

Amazing work there bud.

How much was the polybush stuff and where from?

Cheers mate , can’t rememberer exactly some bits I got through eBay, the wishbone polybushes were black series and believe I got them off someone on here but think they are around £100 new, the anti roll bar ones around £50 , steering rack £30 and the dog bone mount ones are about £40 I believe.hope this helps

The car also had a new comete drive shaft and two brand new mitchilen pilot sport 3s on the front for the MOT which was done last Monday as well as getting all the tracking set up again. I then had the remaining 4 days of the week to get a few miles on it driving to and from work before an awesome road trip to wales which me and a couple mates had planed. In total the car covered about 850 miles over the weekend along some awesome roads. With no problems at all I think its more than proven the work done was okay 😂 although the weather was crap most of the weekend we still had and awesome time

I presume it's easier to remove the lower arms and anti roll bar if you remove the subframe?

Reason I ask is because I've just bough new bottom arms and all new inner and outer ARB bushes and need to fit them.

Yer, really don’t try the inner ARB bushes with the subframe on the car

Yeah mate definitely a lot easier to take it out when you’ve got a lot of little jobs you want to do. It’s also a nice feeling when it all goes back together to know its been done properly

Did you have much bother with power steering pipes. That and the gear linkage are the only things left to undo now. Going to be a track toy so doesn't need to go back with everything that it started with.

Not up dated this for a while now forgot I’d even started it to be honest. Not much has changed on the car really just been racking up some miles and keeping it maintained. At the start of the year me and a mate had a trip up to Scotland and done the 500 we covered around 2000miles over the week in total with no faults. This was an awesome week in the Clios and would definitely recommend it to anyone else on here thinking about doing it, just a few pictures from the week added below
