Red and black is by far the best combo.. Did you fit the slpitter yourself Colin? Did it have to trimmed much?

Black wheels look great on Avus. Not sure if they have to be lowered to work though? Also I dont want to de-value it.

Re: My new car. TTQS

Yeah I fitted it mate, there was a guide on the TT forum back in the day, just needed a bit of dremel action at either end and a couple of the middle supports and then self tapper it onto the bumper.

they really are brilliant cars, if I ever parted with the Vee I would be majorly tempted to get another and go big turbo on it!

I'll do a search see i can find anything online. Cant be hard anyway.

I am actually loving it. Much more than I expected! I thought i'd want a remap but I love the QS map tbh. It was going to stay standard but i've already started looking at parts for it. I guess people looking for a car like this arent going to mind a few mods as long as they are quality/beneficial.

I just think it needs a fruity exhaust to back up the looks.

Oh and I fitted an LCR splitter, alone, in 15 minutes.

I would if my welding skills were up to par lol

lol. We did pikey the Bora before I bought a system for it so may speak to my mate who did it last time. To be honest I think i'd rather not be tight and buy a full system.

I might play with some black plastidip on the wheels too.

I'd only consider one if it was second hand tbh. f**k paying £600.00 odd for one.

I had the blueflame in mine and sounded great

Yeah i've heard great things about blueflame exhausts on them.

First item(s) has been bought for it....New Bosch wipers. I think it still had the originals on..lol! All the cars I buy seem to be like this. Why the f**k dont people replace them I will never know.

No quality issues with my milltek at all, yes it was £1200ish but the quality was superb!

you think that 1200 quid for a system that is nearly identical to the stock system with exhaust tips that push on and then use a clamp to secure and are notorious for rusting is good?

For 1200 quid I would want a fully tigg'd system in high quality stainless with smother bends and a bigger bore than stock! Milltek are dog s**t I have one on my s4 its the same bore as stock and its f**king mig welded lol! The welds are terrible! The "stainless" has rusted lol! They are massively overpriced! For the price of a catback I could of taken the car to a specialist and had a hand built tigg'd full system with a bigger bore pipe!

I genuinely have no idea why people w**k them selfs silly over milltek and think the price they demand is ok lol.

Re: My new car. TTQS

Lol milltek are cheap mate, £1200 is relatively low end for an exhaust system once you get out of French hatches,

take the m135i systems, milltek £750 cat back, supersprint £3200, eisenmann backbox only is £1400...

im saying for the price they are decent, and with custom made exhausts you run the risk that it might sound terrible, be boomy at cruising speeds, etc etc you don't know until it's on the car and finished

Colin i really did love yours. Was it on coilovers?

To be honest I've decided i'll just go to prospeed for an exhaust. I have other bits I want to do first though.

no milltek are cheap quality with a high price, genuinely could go to powerflow and have a better system made! the quality is laughable, as are the designs! for £1200 i would of gone to dyno torque and had a propper exhaust made up! for the price of a milltek they shouldnt rust at all! the cost of the materials in the milltek systems is under 200 quid for a cat back and they charge £700+ and thats for me to personally buy its prob under 100 in parts for them buying in bulk! they then use a jig that was built on a stock system use the same bore pipe as the stock system and put a back box on with less noise resonation than stock which mostly slows flow and gives restriction! oh then the stick resonators on for people who are limp wristed which kills flow even more!

genuinely would be better off buying your own boxes and chopping up a stock system and welding it together!

Re: My new car. TTQS

Have you still got the Miltec on your S4 fella and did you buy it?
Yes it's still on and no I didn't nor would I buy one, buying a house has taken priority over messing with the s4 lol

Re: My new car. TTQS

That looks really great. I was seriously considering one before I bought the R26. They still look so modern and as much of a concept car to production car has as ever been surely?

Re: My new car. TTQS

Well we're two weeks in. I'm starting to really like this car. Ever since ive owned the car its had a slight whistle on boost. This has progressively got worse and then realised I had a split hose which ive replaced with a silicone number. Tiny it may but but from changing it, it's like a new car. Checked all the hoses and we're now good. Full Boost and it had made a massive difference. Goes very well now.

I've also replaced the rear discs and pads. Tempted to do the front too although they have life in them.

Went in to Audi for my 4 new (free) coilpacks. Phoned Audi and found the recall had never been claimed on my car. Bargain. Runs better again. s**te pic I tried to take when in Audi -

The mechanics loved the car. Got a free Audi health check and given the thumbs up! :D Couldnt find a single fault.

I've also given it the first clean in me ownership -

Again only phone pics. The car is averaging 33-34mpg which I think for a car with performance like this is great. Next up i think is going to be a Leon Cupra R splitter.
