New 172 owner from New Zealand

  2001 Clio 172
Good Afternoon, (for me anyway)

I have recently bought a yellow 2001 172 here in Auckland, NZ.
I am building it into a trackday/hillclimb/going to work car.
I have had many toys in the past including an RA WRX Sti, Lancer Evo 2rs, Caterham 7, AE86 Levin and a pile of Escorts of various power outputs however to be honest nothing has put such a grin on my face as my new clio. The fact that 99.9% of the NZ population have no idea what it is let alone what it can do in the corners or in a straight line gives me tons of satisfaction.

Before purchasing the car I came across these forums and found them extremely helpful in finding out information and pro's and cons about the clio.
Here in NZ we dont really have many Renaults at all and sport Clios are very very rare.
I would be interested to see if there are any other kiwi's on these forums to share info with.

I have attached some quick and rubbish shots of my car : )

Welcome from Sydney, Australia! There might be some Kiwi over on on Aussie forum: I know of at least one Meggy 225 owner (Apex).

What are you specifically planning for the new beast?

Cheers people!

Basically I have some Eibach Sportlines lined up and some Toyo trackday tires to go on shortly. I also have a carbon sparco bucket from one of my other race cars to go in. At this stage im not going to do anything too serious however an interior strip and half cage will be next on the list after. Going to leave he engine alone at this stage as it goes well enough as it is.

As far as the rear spoiler goes does anyone have an idea what it is and what it is off because im not sure. I happen to like it : )

PS: the weather is quite cold and very changeable. So cant really say. Just changeable.
