Right; I've had this car for about a month now and have only just, today, had the chance to give it a good going over.
On top of the problems I've already noted from having been driving it, I've spotted a couple more in the garage today and wonder if anyone can offer a little advice.
- Whilst spinning the O/S wheel (in either direction), there's a rhythmic 'rubbing' noise which appears to be coming from the inner pot joint or possibly the diff. The N/S also does this, but it's no-where near as pronounced.
- The O/S steering rack gaiter is leaking PAS oil. I've no real prior experience of PAS racks and am unsure if the gaiters should be containing oil - ? Haynes suggests that the internal seals are likely to have failed. There's also a mild knocking noise coming from this area as the steering wheel is waggled with the weight of the car on the wheels..
Can anyone advise what's up? Should I be adding to the list of French tat that I've to fix?!
