Looks epic. Swap?

Right so nothing is straight forward haha... I thought it'd have like a setting where you say ok I want it to be XX psi, but nooooooo... You have 'offset' 'response' 'drop' and 'overboost'... Apart from overboost, everything is percentages... Percentages of what?! nothing makes sense haha. I tried going with default settings, it would boost till like 9-10psi then drop down to wastegate pressure...

So 'overboost' is like the boost level that you're aiming for, offset increases boost?, response is how quickly it spools, but sacrifices accuracy i.e could spike, and drop is how much the boost drops by if it hits the selected 'warning' boost level, which I put at 10psi.

After some googling, found that it was obviously dropping because its hitting the warning, so lowered the overboost setting to like 4-5psi and upped the offset and its now boosting as it should lol, wierd s**t.

Turns out its now running almost 10psi now... i saw 9.7 on the evc s haha, making some bad noises though... sounds like from the turbo... kinda rattly... yeaaaaaah. Next to no play in the shaft (giggedy) though.

Installed the catch can, was a bit of a b*****d tryna get right, kinda had to shove some other hose into the hose and clamp it down to step the big hose down so it'd fit onto the catch can, but hey if it works, it works.

Also the hose catches the bonnet a bit so might have to address that issue at some point. Put some plastidip on it for the mean time. Can just cut the underskin off right lelelel.

Oh yeah. That's right. D1 Spec. Basically a drifter.

Next job is gap my spark plugs down and swap the pipes over and do some mad dose!

Wooooow I suck at updating.

So car failed it's warrant of fitness (mot) on some stupid little things, the inspector decided he was going to fail the car as soon as he saw it, so I've had to wait 28 days for the fail to exit the system, and then go to the place I usually go to where they're a bit more tolerant on things like exhaust noise.

So one of the things it failed on was play in ball joints in the rear steering system (HICAS), so I've decided to go the proper route of deleting HICAS with a non-HICAS subframe.

It's a hell of a lot harder than a simple lock bar, but it'll be worth it in the end if I do it properly and it wont have any serviceable parts to.

With a HICAS lock bar, you still have all the ball joints in the system which can cause play and fail wof inspections (which mine has) so it's no better excuse to do it.

Managed to score this for about £30 which isn't too bad.

Gonna strip it all down and give it a good coating of subframe black paint, sort the bushes while I'm there.

Also got a new muffler to go on and a v band so I cant drop the exhaust when I need to do the subframe, as currently the exhaust is all one piece.

Decided to take the hit and get the 'legal stretch' Falken FK452 tyres in 225/45R17 as the Bridgestone's weren't wof-able. Might do me for a drift day though... Got another pair of tyres sitting about the garage too... Hmmmm.......

Fills the arch a bit better now but the lip doesn't 'pop' as much as it did with the 215's. I really wouldn't say they're stretched at all.

At least they're certable and wont get pinged by the popo/wof man.

Subframe is happening, managed to wire wheel most of the rust off and keyed the paint. Sprayed one side with CRC rust converter and about to do the other side tonight. Should be ready for paint tomorrow and we're onto a winner!

Not really much to update on the Skyline front, but thought I'd share with you guys my new purchase xD

Bought myself a "daily" lol...

It's a JDM Honda Civic EG9 SIR

Got it for a steal off a mate, just needs a fair amount of tidying up and will make a pretty sweet little runabout!

Doesn't go too badly either with its B16a motor :D

Sadly it is auto but my mate I bought it off is throwing in everything needed to do a manual swap and will help me out doing it when I get around to it.

Pls excuse s**t pics, it's not as bad as the pics show xD

Fart can might need replacing with a proper muffler, although it isn't loud at all. Rear bumper needs paint as is green whereas rest of the car is black. Had a shitty fibreglass aftermarket bumper on which I threw in the bin straight away.

Also cleaned it since these photo's were taken so it's not looking as bad now.

Done an oil & filter changed and fixed some interior bits and pieces, so it's getting there!

To be fair it's f*cking light! Holds itself up haha, although that could be because the hinges need some wd40...

Yeah it needs a bit of work but is a good base.

The american honda guys would be creaming their pants over this haha.

Got me some OZ F1 track/skid wheels, went halves on a pair with a mate so will probably use for a drift day if I grow a pair and take it out for one.

Also have an OEM bonnet that needs paint, and paint the bumpers and she's mint!

Sup Cliosport fam long time no speak!

Just been doing maintenence, oil change with full synthetic penrite 10w40 and a Greddy oil filter.

Also installed some Hawk HP+ track brake pads, and a fire extinguisher using a fancy bracket which means I don't have to drill any holes in it, and did a track day at Ruapuna :D

Going to do another trackday at a different that at Levels in Timaru here in NZ :D

Honda's still honda-ing which is good... I guess.

Looks good on track, how did it perform?
Performed as expected, got chopped by Honda's but had a f**king good time! I think the tyres I got for it werent the best size, I went for a 225 45 17 on a 17x9 which is a bit stretched, I think when I'm due tyres Ill go for a 235 or 245 instead.
Also would benefit from some coilovers, but it was reasonably flat through corners! Gonna rock the same setup for the next trackday though, see how I improve personally before I go modifying the car some more. I'm working full time over the christmas period so should hopefully have some cash to splash on the skyline :D

Oh yeah I've installed GKTech's braided brake lines and braided clutch line too, forgot to mention that haha. Great upgrade, anyone looking to get into trackdays I would highly recommend getting your brakes sorted before going for power!

Yeah I would say go for a wider tyre!
Get some coilovers after your Christmas shifts, best thing I did for my 15. Not only does it look better, it handles awesomely too.

Yeah only thing is if I get coilovers I need to certify my car, which means getting every modification noted on a plate that gets bolted to the firewall, and I can't change anything from that plate without recertifying. So I'm gonna do everything at the same time, hopefully towards the end of the summer :D

You get over it pretty quickly, just the way they do things here, could be alot worse like australia, where even a blow off valve is illegal D:

I wouldn't let that put you off, New Zealand's amazing.

Y0 ClioSport hows it going back in the motherland??

So installed an ultra racing front sway bar on the skidline and did another track day at Levels in Timaru, really good track day had lots of time and was keeping up with the big boys around the corners, just didn't have enough grunt down the straight which was annoying.
