New ProSpeed Exhaust!!

I used a craft knife to remove the melted plastic around the surround, looks good as new now.

A metal trim may conduct and spread the heat better.

Mine used to move to the left just like that. My problem was the bracket that Charlie fitted ( small black triangular rubber) - The ehxhaust was expanding and moving back - It didn't have enough travel and once the bend in the metal hit the black rubber bracket it was pushing the exhaust left and down and causing it to catch the surround.

I just drilled another hole to affix the bracket a bit further back, giving the metal more room to expand along a horizontal plane. Now it doesn't move anywhere - dead central.

Tighten the exhaust mounts with extra rubber mountings!

went back to prospeed today, they moved it over to the right lots and when it heats up its in the center. drove all the way back and there was no melting of the new exhaust surround charle brought me and covered my toll/lunch.

absolute top bloke, cant recommend him enough.

cool - glad its sorted - does it seem quicker again now? if its any consolation my 172 feels slow as fook at the moment due to this hot weather - reckon im losing about 20bhp by the feel of it!

Looking good. Charlie always keeps the customers happy, and you can't fault his service.

He even replaced the Renault rubber mount thing for free as mine had worn through and luckily he had a spare one.

He also put me on a longer backbox to keep it quieter, and made one of the the baffle's slightly larger to cut down on resonation (double 3.5" exit).

In fact mine's on the website gallery:

Oh and it has never moved, and I have no surround. Which is lucky as the pipes are fairly close to the cutaway.
