OE radio - numbered buttons

A quick query if I may.

I've a standard OE radio/CD player from my 2002 172 cup.

Are the numbered buttons supposed to select tracks on a CD - for example if you were listening to a CD and pressed 4, should track 4 start? Mine never would. Neither of the numbers would select to relevant track. Initially I thought it was a button issue but when listening to the wireless if I press a number it changes to the station preset to that number.

Thats either how it is (odd) or it's playing funny buggers?

In cd function, unless there's a multi changer fitted, the numbers do nothing. What if you wanted track 7??

The radio presets are stored under 1-6.

I'd have really liked the ability to press 6 and then the arrow once - but not to worry.
