Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/Wilwood/2118

I'd expect them to be a damn sight better than paradas! Will be getting a set eventually

Bet you caneet wait to get your all the gumph on the car

I'd have been disappointed if they were only marginally better, but I'm happy to say they're in another league.

I'll make a start getting stuff on soon. Just waiting on a few little bits from Tom before the RS2 can go on. :)

Going to get some new cams popped in there at the same time too; most likely 428's.

They seem quite a reasonable price from k-tec.

£594, but then the bit of cs discount off of that.

Haven't seen them for anything cheaper than that.

Love the box of treats on the last page, black RS2 is going to look awesome with your new coolant hoses Oli.

I keep forgetting I have the catch tank, and always smile when I open the bonnet and it's there looking nice and shiney. Lol.

I've somehow put a small scratch in the top of mine; must be my amazing packaging skills. :o

What kind of power you hoping for?

I'd like to think it would be pushing 200 with the RS2 and 428's.

I'm not really too bothered by the figures if it drives well :D

no i bought another 172 to track it and the bottom end went but i sold it to one of my mates whos thinking of doing a mental turbo conversion

Do you no longer have the black 172 anymore then? :)

^ Not a chance with the manifold alone.

Would be nice to see it pushing close to the 200bhp mark with the manifold and 428's, which I think is a pretty realistic figure? :)

Update!!

I've just ordered the cat cam 428's, from K-Tec.

Hopefully they'll arrive this week; they're normally very fast delivery.

More stuff to dump in the cardboard box on the computer room floor ;)

Just read through the thread, lovely car and would be a pleasure to see it some time. When are you ordering your yozza btw ;)

Nice work.

Nice work.

I'll need a local reliable place to fit the cams, so it may be coming to you anyway! ;)

Yozza would be nice, maybe later this year. Once my engine stuff's out the way, I'm going to leave it alone for a while, been spending quite a bit recently. :o lol!

Update!! again...

As said a couple of posts back, I ordered some catcam 428's for the car.

The original plan was to get the RS2 on and then go to one of the more local specialists to fit the cams, before sorting out mapping.

However, after a couple of phone calls today, the car will be left in JMS and Tom's very capable hands to do the lot. :star:

A fantastic/incomparable quote and an easy drive in/drive out service make it the easy choice tbh!

So, watch this space. ;)

The car's amazing, but you must have a bottomless pit full of cash.

When/if you sell this I expect it to be up for 3.14 seconds before it's gone.

Thanks! :approve:

I feel some bits need a tidy up now though. On the front carbon diamond the edges (where it's painted) are starting to chip and flake. The same on the carbon clio badge. They've been on the car for a while now though. :(

I also cracked the front splitter a couple of weeks back, on my mates driveway.

I'm going to go for the steamline carbon stuff next time (front and rear diamonds, and front splitter) as hopefully the pre-preg stuff will last longer.

Also, as the splitter is in 3 pieces, if I damage it again, I'd hopefully only need to replace 1 of the sections.

Sounds exciting - I will bee keeping an eye out for you power figures ;)

Interesting updates! Will be watching very closely for the results if the RS2 and cams!

It seems it's quite uncharted territory at the moment. Hoping it won't be far off of 200, but tbh, I'm not too fussed about the figures, as long as it drives well. :D

Another big reason for Tom being involved in the development/calibration; he'll obviously know how to get the best out of the RS2! :)

Quite possibly my favourite car on the forum.

All it needs is a nice set of Recaros in the front!

Can't wait to see all the engine work done.

Possibly Pole Positions. I'm not sure though, it's an every day car and I don't want fixed buckets to spoil or detract from that. :o

when are you taking it to jms?

Looking at July; that's when I've some time booked off of work.

mmm, cams.

I'd be expecting with the manifold and cams anywhere in the region between 195 and 205bhp

Would be nice, but as long as it drives well then I'll be more than happy. :D

As said, Tom's the person to get the very best from the setup, without a doubt. :approve:

My modified/uprated exhaust mount has just arrived, from Prima Racing.

Wow, proper job. I suspect even the weight of the stealth exhaust won't be any issue for it.

For £44 (£35 for the mount, plus P&P), if it sorts the continued and repeating sagging of the exhaust, I'll be happy. :)

Is it still made of rubber mate because from the pics it looks like metal, which would cause some mighty vibrations

I've not long since fitted a brand new mount to mine, thought I'd put a socket in straight away so it didnt get the chance to drop at all. Think if I get any problems in the future this may be the answer

Are you an arms dealer or something? The amount of money you have put into this car is crazy, i had to rob a few banks before i got the RS2 ;)

Keep up the good work :)

+1 to above.

But fair play to you brilliant car and it's gonna be even better with cams and the rs2 can't wait to see the results.

Drug dealer iirc!!!

I'm liking the new goodies, I do keep checking this thread to see if it's been fitted yet. :)

haha!! Can't be either arms or drugs, tinted windows are a prerequisite for that iirc!

It's all be done in July now; looking at 18th July which Tom said shouldn't be a problem (coincidentally, my birthday too ;) )

Once this is out the way, there's very little more I'll be doing.

The steamline carbon carbon bits, possibly a Yozza race system and Recaro PP's.

Maybe, maybe, a change of suspension.

Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118

^^ Ha my birthday too!!

Picked mine up last nite, you will love the RS2 im sure!

Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118

Well today, another uprated exhaust mount arrived from Prima racing! :S

Obviously I only ordered one haha! Checking my bank account, they've also charged for two.

I imagine somehow, the order has been processed twice, just a couple of days apart! strange! :dead:

Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118

Spoke to Prima racing when they opened this morning; very helpful the person I spoke to, she's refunding the cost of the second exhaust mount that arrived. :)

When they receive it back, they're going to refund the postage too. Spot on. :)

Also, re a yozza exhaust. I've just seen there's now a yozza race stealth system!

I don't think I've seen one before, is anyone using one? I'm assuming the only difference between the race and race stealth is the positioning and design of the backbox?

I think I want one :o

Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118

I see what you did there :rasp:

Noise and spec wise, is it the same as the regular race system? Is there a price difference between the two? :)
