ph1 1.2 1999 speedo lights?

Just a quick question, not quite sure whether my speedo lighting is with bulbs or leds. mine has the petrol and temp gauges on the right hand side with the speedo in the middle, ive done a search but can only seem to find the same dash over and over with the speedo on the right. fancy doing a colour change but didnt want to take the dash apart to find out what i need if somone else knows on here.

If yours is the same as mine then Im pretty sure they are bulbs.

Why not just take it out and have a look behind, if its bulbs you can see them all and where they come out.

I think, I'm not certain, that changing the bulbs over will be exactly the same as is is in the guides, you may just have a slightly different amount of bulbs/bulb layout.

yer its just ive heard some of the older models use bulbs rather than the soldered smd's and i couldnt find a guide specific to the speedo i have, just wanted to make sure so i can order the bits

Pop the dash top off and have a look, it's only 9 screws or so.

If you can find out what bulbs are needed then post back in here as im in the same boat as you Some of my bulbs are blown and id rather make them blue/red than the orange.

509t are the bulbs in mine just had the dash out to check, im pretty sure that you might have to sand an orange film off the back of the dials to make this work though but im not totally sure. i will more than likely be attempting this within the next week or so, so i could let u know after if u want ?

Yeah found the bulbs myself too apart from the two large ones that go in the middle and light up the speedo. Its one of them that has blown on mine.

The filters will need to be sanded down though yep and each warning light has coloured filters on them too.

Nope its some big ass filament bulb, lost the picture I took of them though

Nope their bigger than that, a lot wider than a sidelight, possibly the same height though. Maybe the same fitment? Ill remove it again tomorrow when I can be arsed and try find out.

Hmm, they could have just looked bigger then due to the fact im used to seeing them in headlights.

Yep would mean you can

Would need to sand a filter down though I think.

all the bits are now ordered ill give it a go with the filters 1st and see what happens and then ill sand them if needs be cheers for the help peeps very useful
