Thought I would start a wee thread for my 172 exclusive, number 95, think the old owner was on here as well. Bought the car in January this year and here’s some pics of the advert when I got it with the following details:

Engine & Exhaust:
Low Boost 230/230 turbo kit.
Gt28 turbo
ED Log Manifold
Turbo Oil Feed pipe
Turbo Oil Drain Pipe
Turbo Exhaust Manifold
Turbo Exhaust Downpipe Kit
Turbo Intercooler kit with black silicone hoses
JR Cone Air Filter with our Intake Kit
Forced induction ECU Module
Turbo Map Sensor
630cc Injectors
Alloy Turbo Heat shield
Full Custom 2.5 inch exhaust with 200 cat
Custom backbox
Uprated clutch
Fully powerflex polybushed

Exterior and Interior:
Phase 2 rear bumper and tailgate
Exclusive alloys powder coated gloss black 172 cup shocks and grams 20mm springs
Bonnet Catches
LED rear number plate bulbs
Corbeau clubsport XL seats with Jon foz mounts and adjustable sliders
Sparco steering wheel
Custom boost gauge and fuel pressure gauge.
Rear wiper delete
Cup spoiler
Rear seat delete with boot mat
OZ Fl spare wheel and tyre
Upgraded Alarm and Immobiliser

Weekly washed by myself and monthly deep cleaned (wheels off etc). Sills are spot on as Engine Dynamics dry-stored the vehicle for 18 years.

Being honest wasn’t particularly looking for a turbo one but it seemed the better value for the mileage compared to any other exclusive for sale at the time, as I had almost about number 3 ages ago and always liked the exclusives looks wise.

So first thing I did once I got it back to Aberdeen from down south was give it a clean as it was quite dirty inside with like a greasy film on it. Also changed the head unit so the stalk controls would work, new aerial, put back on a the rear wiper, put on aero wipers and replaced the rear boot struts as they were gone enough to not be able to hold the boot line open.

Appreciate it bud! Although won’t be a major project but will be kind of short term making it how I want it as it is a daily car.

Will throw it all together in one post and some images won’t post since I took them in raw format, oops.

So far I have:
Put in standard interior, ongoing as belts I got have locked the inertia reel or missing boltsor gotten damaged for the rear
New Michelin pilot tyres all round, the semi slicks are not ideal in Scotland!
New Sabelt Renault sport steering wheel
Removed spacers
New wheel bolts
Dump valve, not massively keen but I don’t like the thought of not having one
New Renault sport mats
Cup holder
Relocated the head unit to normal position and moved the gauges to the cubbyhole bit

Also got a new thermostat to go in as I think it’s a low temp one meaning my car doesn’t ever get up to temperature, got a new Renault coolant bottle as well to go on

Seen this pop up for sale a few times and always thought it looked decent. In for updates.

Dont worry about running no dumpvalve, they do nothing apart from make noise and leak. None of my cars have one on.

After putting in the rear seats and lifting the carpet I saw this:
IMG_6194.jpeg

with those marks around the bolt and it looking filled in I would guess the bolt snapped so have shelved the idea of refitting the isobar, wish I had known before and I wouldn’t have bothered buying one 😂🙁

So with that being the case and it looking like this with an annoying looking gap
IMG_6209.jpeg

I decided to trim the full length carpet to fit it to fill in the gap

Yeah might have a look at that in the future, got some new bolts for the isobar for when I do decide to have a look.

Also ordered a new bolt for the back seats, the middle one that’s shouldered from Renault but it’s a few weeks wait time. In the mean time my new washer jets arrived that have the spray pattern off the back of one of the threads on here so fired them on, a nice easy wee mod that makes things nicer:

Out with the old:

In with the new:

Also fitted a new bonnet seal as the old one had split in bits:

Today I changed the coolant and thermostat, as it never got up to proper temps, not sure if it’s low temp one or just failed but got a new Renault one and new Renault coolant tank from RPD with some new coolant get rid of the red rubbish:
