So i'm gonna give this a go and see what i think!

Naturally, second day driving it, the enivitable happened..

It Broke.

Rear brake pads fell clean off leaving me with no brakes approaching a roundabout
Had to clamp the brake hose with vice grips to get me home!

Anyway, used it as an excuse to sort all the niggly problems that were annoying me.

Noticed the heater blowers wern't working, so bridged the plug at the heater resistors and the dans came on full blast, so the heater resistor was shot

Enjoying it so far though :D

So done a few things to the clio since my last post..

the inlet manifold is filthy
D68C66D6-9322-4409-AA19-B49E53C1B573-1738-00000278D0D70456.jpg

so gave it a quick (and i mean quick) rub with wet and dry paper, just to make it a little more presentable until i get it painted!

Next up were the wheels. They were looking very tired, and when the car was cleaned, they let it down :( Ideally I would have liked to get them powdercoated, but i couldn't afford to have the wheels sent away, as i needed the car for work! So i decided to tackle them myself at the weekend..

So was pretty pleased with the result, but in my hastiness to get the wheels back on, it made a fatal error of jacking the car on a slight slope, which led to the jack sliding, and the car falling off the wood it was resting on! Obviously, there were no wheels on the car, so it landed on the brake disks, and ripped the front bumper off! Rage!!

Done a little damage to the corner of the bumper, and bent my splitter, but its not too noticable! will get it sorted when i'm getting the bumper sprayed, as theres a few scratched on the n/s..

Anyway, wheels fitted, and looks much better imo :)

Looks really nice dude, any further plans.
Thank You :)
Well as much as i like the drive with the standard ride height, it does sit way too high for my liking! I dont want it as low as my Golf, but i reckon just a subtle drop on some springs should do the trick!

just need to decide, Eibachs or cooksports.. Opinions welcome!!

My headlight washers havn't worked since i got the car, and tbh, i'm not too bothered. But what i'm wondering is, if i blank them off, will that make my xenons illegal? Y'know, isn't that like removing a requirement for those type of lights?
I think the front end looks a lot cleaner with them blanked off, so that's why i'm inclined to get rid!

I've got exactly the same spec car as you and have got my washers blanked off. Checked with K-Tec before it was done and they said It wont fail an MOT, and it never has :)

Mine are blanked off from the washer bottle I believe (K-Tec carried out the work), so I have still got the washers on the bumper, even though they don't do anything.

They do seem to pop on here from time to time, but go quickly. I think Streamline do some carbon ones, they're nice - but pricey.

Okay cheers for the info mate!
I'd love a set of streamline carbon numbers, but i couldn't justify the cost!

How'd you do your wheels ?
And I have the exact same age and colour lol was thinking a gloss black for the wheels and my resistor has gone must be a common fault

I just done my wheels with spray paint mate, i've done a few sets of wheels now, so i knew what i was doing! Haha
I personally dont like solid black wheels, but it's up to you obviously, would be good to see you pull it off :)

There's a company on ebay that you can send your resistor away to be repaired, something like £30, but i couldn't be arsed waiting, so i just bought a new one, was too cold on the mornings! :p

I have mine in anthracite but it's starting to chip off the plastic centres so just wanted a change not sure what other colour to do the any ideas ? I have done the calliper in yellow looks really good

And I found the resistor on eBay for 14:99 brand new so probs just get that

  RS 182
Not sure what other colours you could go for, personally i would say OEM silver or anthracite!

are you sure that's the real deal at £15? I mean, i paid £130 and renault was the only place that done them!

Got my Scorpion system and decat fitted the day it arrived, cracked on after my work as i couldn't wait to hear it! Anyway, love it! Pic's to follow tomorrow :)

Quick wash after work, but at -3 degrees, it wasn't the best idea i've ever had!

Terrible pic, and still none of the exhaust, but will sort that out at the weekend!

Thanks guys, appreciate the good feedback!

I sprayed my wheels 'Rover Steel Grey' which i found a few people on Cliosport had recomended to be the nearest to Standard! Was pretty pleased with the final outcome :)

well packaged, with recorded delivery to the door, excellent service!

i now need to decide which colour to paint it.. Suggestions please?

  RS 182
She's looking well Chip :) You could maybe do your engine cover the same as your wheels
Cheers Stu! Funny you should say that, it crossed my mind about an hour ago when i walked past it lying on the floor! Haha I dunno whether i would want a big in-your-face red, i think it can be pulled off with silicone hoses etc, but on it's own, it can look a bit silly.. I reckon the anthracite would be pretty classy :)

  Clio 182
Anybody know how much a standard exhaust is or is a scorpian rs192 the way forward and I painted the cover shiny black and painted the Renault sport bit yellow

Well following on from my other thread ( http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?701566-How-to-pop-without-the-map ) i recently made a little change to the clio!

My centre silencer was cracked on the scorpion, so it sounded horrible :( i was planning on getting the cracks welded up, but after pondering the thought, i decided to get the silencer cut out and replaced with a s/s straight-though pipe!

The noise is certainly different, quite raspy at around 2k revs, but a slight blip of the throttle makes it pop on demand! So far i love it :p
video to follow, but heres a wee pic of it today after a wash, clay bar detail and polish!
