Picked up my 172 today

Oh my god i have never driven anything like it!! my car before this was a 1.4 8v 205 rallye which in my opinion was a wicked car until id drove this today. Oh my word what the hell happens at 4K my vision goes blurry and i travel back in time amist the tramlining and wheelspin this car is an animal it just goes mental!!! The spec of these cars is just unbelieveable how much stuff! was playing with it on the way home and still finding new stuff, why is the mpg gauge so slow? was trying to see how low i could get it 20.something then gave up. my only gripes with the car is that the rear view mirror is w**k but then again who cares and the steering, there is no feel in it whatsoever in comparision to my 205 but then again that wasnt power assisted but still its very vague, other than that tho i would say its on par or if not better than that of my old 205. These cars are truely awesome im so glad i decided to get one. im like a kid at christmas!!!

the mpg is "average mpg" hence it doesnt fluctuate that fast.

i decided to go for silver i know its common but its by far the best colour in my opinion for the shape of the 172

well i thought blue ones look like normal clios, red i just didnt like and on the black ones the difference in paint finish between the front wings and the rest of the car is massive, why didnt renault evr do the 172 in cup blue that colour is just awesome

I tested my MPG guage earlier this week, zero-ing it at various stages.

On the motorway at 70mph, I got 41mpg. (gently gently)

Zipping around Bracknell and Basingstoke, at one point it got down to 23mpg. (lots of racing 0-60 involved, wheeeeeee ha ha ha ha!)

I was impresed with the motorway milage though.

I suppose the around town milage was pretty good too for the BHP involved.

Say hello to torque steer!! If youve got a hot hatch without torque steer you need more power.

You have to take the throttle body off to get to the spark plugs. Its not easy, and if you do it, be very careful when re-installing the HT leads. Mine have become damaged by being pinched between throttle body and head.

Hahahahaha, sorry mate not laughing at u, just think thats funny, i drove a 1.2 nova then a 205 rallye (1.4) now im on to this and its amazing! How old are you? im 21 nearly 22 (in May) and am in mucho debt cos i bought this but im a petrol head and not to bothered about missing a few nights out in Bolton, which is sh*te anyway im sure JPW172 can testify to!! Ive been waiting a while cos of insurance reasons, take the plunge u know u want to

im 21 in june so will be 22 by time i get either 172 or 182 whichever. cant take the plunge yet because my ickle clio is on finance and will be trading her in next year for one. I will also be willing to give up a few nights of drinking as long as i can gain a few nights driving he he!!! ill also be going with diamond insurance coz they are dead cheap and specialise in women so might get a bargain! Im only one of two petrol heads in my bunch of mates so i get to enjoy the pleasure of cars, then scare the sh*t out of em when i get in my other halfs car coz i can handle it he he he cant wait till next year though

Also try tesco, this was the reason i got a 172, all the quotes id been getting were laughable around the 3K mark then tesco was just over a grand! I know what u mean about scaring people hahahaha no one wants to get in my car now!!
