Pictures of my Nimbus R27 with full RS Bodykit and Elia Spoiler

  Glacier White 200
As promised, some more pictures of mine and Steve's R27.

Options -

Bluetooth Car Kit
Folding Mirrors
Auto Sports Lights, Cornering Lights and Auto Wipers
RS Carbon Effect Skirts and Splitter

The car gets a huge amount of attention and looks alot better in the real life. Nimbus really matches the grey tones of the R27 decals and wheels.

It has had the injection remap from Renault and is fed a tank and a half of V-Power every week.

Now it has the ECU update it is responsive from 2k and is easily as quick as our old 172.

Very nice...

Could you tell me more about the ECU update please Sar??

isn't it the update done by renault to help the kangaroo effect?

best colour but i just haven't warmed to the skirts yet.

Wish they did 197's in Monaco Blue but if I ever get one, it would be a Nimbus for sure!!!

Nimbus is second to white IMO, looks great. Personally I'd have gone for a cup spoiler, didn't like them when I first saw them but now I think they really suit the mk3.

nice, not keen on the extra side skirts, looks kinda cheap and stuck on TBH but i do like the front spiltter, looks well

Nice - it's great that the ECU update actually makes a difference :) The add-ons aren't for me normally but they actually work well with Nimbus, and I love Nimbus :)

How long does the ECU update take, as I won't be able to take my car in so my mum'll have to be doing it for me. Surely flashing the ECU is a 5 minute job followed by a quick round the block and check the doors lock? So, half hours faff tops? Or do they say "We'll need the car all day"?

There's plenty more to the update than the kangaroo fix.

The car is transformed. I would never go back.

like what? increase in mpg?

No, if anything the mpg is less.

Noticable improvements are :

Much better from cold
Very little or no kangaroo
Easier/smoother drive
Smoother gearchanging
Better in slow moving traffic or when driving slow
Car is responsive from 2k upwards and still boosts at 5k and above

The benefits are well documented on some of the other forums.

Give them a morning to do tests.

You won't be disappointed, it's a big improvement.

I was told by the chief technician at City Motors Bristol that you have to register a complaint with the dealer about the flat spot and kangaroo.

Only then will they do the update. This was their instructions from Renault UK.

Give the Renault patch a go, it's really does make the car so much better.

It's free, but you need to register your request as a complaint (see above).

My car has been in before for them to look for ECU faults but they said there wasn't any, yet is still ridiculous on colds starts for the first 5/10 mins of a journey..

I don't know why they have to be so arsey about it!!

I would go to a different dealer as the service varies. The one in Trowbridge where we live is awful, but the one Bristol is superb.

At the end of the day you are having problems and they have a fix so it's a case of either they do it, or you go to trading standards!

Very nice! Though I'm still not 100% on the splitter/skirt thing...

What's that sticker on your rear window?
