Planes, Ferries and Automobiles...

.....as many of you probebly know, I should be in France at the mo, with all the other Cliosporters, but Im not!

After a safe ferry crossing, we all headed off down to the south of France. A long, hard, tireing journey lay ahead, but after over 600 miles of driving and many hours we were only 15 miles away from our final destination, when someone decided to pull out on me whilst i was overtaking some of the other guys!!!

The result of the above ended in one smashed up V6 and a very pissed off Steve and brother in law. The police turned up and sorted out all the legal stuff took my car and the third parties car away.

Brother in law and myself spent the Saturday night in the Holiday Inn, at Toulouse airport and flew home the next day, yesterday.

So as you can see within a 36 hour period we experianced, "planes , ferries, and Automobiles", lol. and only had 5 hours sleep.

The vee is still in France, fingers crossed its going to be a write-off, wont find out for a few days yet.

I would just like to say, on the behalf of my brother in law and myself, a hhhhhhhhhhhuuuuuuuuuuggggggeeeeeeee thankyou to all the cliosporters that were with us on the holiday, youve all been great, and a special thankyou to Jon1978, without whos help and french speaking ability, would of made life alot more difficult at the scene of the accident.

Ill hopefully be able to post up some pics of the dead vee once the others get back on sunday and they have emailed them to me.

So for the forseable future SteveV6 is just Steve, lol.

OMG! Nooooo!

I hope youre OK Steve.
Was it a French car that took you out or a CS car?

I assume the damage must be fairly bad if youre hoping for a write off.

Gutted for you.

The other car was French owened and driven by a local 17 year old lad, but ironically, it was a 1.2 Clio, Phase 3 Mk1.

Thats the way son!.....give the French there stuff back............Seriously though glad you and brother-in-law (and his ear) are ok. Looks like your getting ANOTHER V6...That will be your third one.......

Take it easy.........Mike

PS: Did you recover my packet of Tobacco from the wreck? :p

Cheers Mike, yeah forgot to say the passenger side-airbag went off and gave the brother in law a really sore ear, lol, it went purple and he had a beeping noise in it for a few hours. After a visit too the doctors today, he was given the all clear, no perferated ear drums!!

Hope it all gets sorted out very quickly for you Steve.

What were the French police like? Did the blame automatically get put on you (due to you being English) or the guy that pulled out of a sideroad (I hope)

Fingers crossed youll be back in a new car soon.

bah thats terrible news. such a beautiful car. hope all gets sorted soon mate. glad to hear ur ok.

The police were fine Jon, very polite and helpfull, if not a little unproffesional!!

The breath test i took was blowing on the coppers nose, must of smelt bad coz i hadnt cleaned my teeth for over 24 hours at that point, lol.

The young lad was considered to be in the wrong coz i was overtaking on a main road, and as he was ajoining the main road from a side road, he should of given way to all on coming traffic, immaterial of me overtaking.

He was kicking off as well, dont think the police were to inmpressed with him to be honest. I just stood there, with Jon1978 interpreting, saying yes sir, no sir , three bags full sir!!! lol.

Shoulda got the interview on camcorder, so we could have marked Jon on his french skills.

I see youre already looking at colours for the next Vee.

Better get down to the dog track to win some money ;)

At the end of the day, it is just a car and you got out ok, you live to fight another day ! (That rhymes too ! I am a lyricist ! LOL !)
