play downloaded videos onTV

HI,

I just bought a LCD tv and have a s-video connector coming from my laptop to the TV.. The tv displays all what is shown on my laptop screen but when I want to watch movies/stream, most of the time the screen (which the video is being played in) stays black!

Any ideas of how to sort this?

Adam

tell it to not clone the monitors signal so in theory u have 2 desktops, then just drag media player to tv one and expand to full screen , thats all i do

I looked on an avforum and discovered that in the display settings if you select Advanced then go to the Overlay scetion and select "theater Mode" that will ensure whatever is displayed on your computer/laptop screen will be shown on the TV

Yes, the problem is your using hardware acceleration and as such, technically the video isnt there ! its displayed in a overlayed layer which your tv output doesnt display.

If you disable hardware acceleration the video will display correctly on your tv.
