Prospeed exhaust, Insurers say it'll cost a lot...

Can you believe it ? £400 extra on my premium for my exhaust. And even though I don't believe it hasn't gained a little more mid range as edde says. I sold it to the guy that because it's a Diesel, it doesn't increase power. And after feeling a little silly and telling me the minimum extra he could put was 0-10% power, it came out as a £20 increase. Nice one Unmentioned Insurers, you're fleacing me for the actual coverage, but a new exhaust for a total of £290 can't be bad !!

Just cause its made from SS why do you pay extra, 90 of cars on the road dont have OEM exhausts (kwickfits arnt std exhausts from the manufacture so they are aftermarket too)..

Frankly unless the style has changed then i personally wouldnt bother..

I see what you mean, but for the £20 I wouldn't risk it, if it ever did come down to them inspecting it for one reason or another, I'd rather have peace of mind. BTW if you know what the back of a none 182 Clio looks like, then you'll know it's aftermarket.

I see what you mean, but for the £20 I wouldn't risk it, if it ever did come down to them inspecting it for one reason or another, I'd rather have peace of mind. BTW if you know what the back of a none 182 Clio looks like, then you'll know it's aftermarket.

SS stealth like K-tec's i wouldnt declare it on a 172. My cup has a Magnex and have declared it for the reason the style has changed (visible). If i owned a 182 then i would not declare it.

When I mentioned I had a SS fitted the guy asked if the original one fell off.
