pug 106 fast road project

Me and a friend bought this just to mess around with, with the idea of turning it in to a fast road/track car

its a 1995 106 1.0 with 69,000 on the clock, the first thing we want to change are the hubs from 3 to 4 studs, and fit some bigger brakes, as the ones on the car a shot the pedal goes all the way to the floor, and last of all the engine (1.6 16v vts/gti)

it only cost us £100, which i dont think is that bad

heres the pics

gonna be a riot mate ive just sold my s1 rallye that was stripped with 140 brake 16v and it was immense.

Looks like its going to be a cool project.

Umm..... in the second picture..... have u accidentally driven it into the garage door?

Keep it the standard colour!

Epic work so far, boys. Will be a weapon.. Buy an already cammed engine and you've got a proper weapon!

update time

bought a pair of VT wishbones that that im in the middle of changing the bushes, balljoints and mounts. upgrading the bushes to polyrace ones

bought a pair of driveshafts, so far ive painted bonnet, slam panel, wings and bumper in battleship grey, ill get some pictures of them tomorrow. going to start painting the engine bay next week or the week after when i have a week off

not really any major updates

changed my mind on the colour of the car didn't really like the battleship grey once i sprayed the bonnet, so im going to spray it matt black

bought a rear beam, all ive done is cleaned it up and painted. i had to buy new calipers fot it aswell as the bleed screws had snapped and could get them out, all i need to do now it buy the bushes for it and then i can go on

also bought some lowering springs for it there 30mm apex and also bought studs for it instead of using bolts and fitted them

ive started to paint the engine bay aswell, im just waiting for the paint to come then i can finish that bit off and make it into a rolling chassis once ive found some tyres for the wheels, the bay is going gloss white and so is the interior and ive undersealed the arches too

all ive done inside is started to take off the soundproofing / tar stuff which surprising weighs quite a bit

bought the bushes for the rear axle, had it new metal inserts made as the axle is off a later model 106 which takes a 12mm bolt and the the car takes a 10mm bolt and the housing that the bushes go in are different sizes, pics aren't the best

Nice project. I have something similar - Citreon AX GT with cammed VTS unit and stripped to 680kgs.

To say it's fun is an understatement! Punches well, well above its weight and is an absolute hoon to drive!

Good project, i'm a big pug/citreon fan, had a few myself an think they make cracking trackday/fun cars. I'll certainly be watching this one.

finally finished the 4 stud conversion now, fitted the rear axle today

the axle need rising as wheels are too far in the arch are rubbing aswell, didnt get pictures of the underside will get some tomorrow
