Quick brake light question...

Put my g/fs 1.2 clio into renault(arseholes) for an MOT

They said it failed as the top brakelight in centre was not working and wanted 55quid to fix it..

Am i right in thinking that this isnt needed ,(as long as the two side ones work well)??

Plus they didnt hoover and wash the car..does this get done...

thanks for your help

Hoover and wash on an MOT? Are you kidding?

It's not a service (which to be honest you'll still be lucky to get that on a service).

As for the brake light, I think it's a case of if the car has one, it has to work, like fog lights etc.

I'd personally remove the brake light yourself and see if you can work out why it's not working. Loose wire? Blown bulbs?

As Chris says. But I think its leds and they cant be changed unless you know what your doing.

I have the authentique type spoiler with a brake light if your needing it,, for a lot less than £55 as well!

To take the spoiler off its just 6 bolts and then it pops off, the light is just bolted in.

thanks for the reply...

just a step down in courtesy and the way im usually treated from renault...

wen i take my 182 in for anything its all please and thankyou...

but when its a 1.2....it seems to be a different story...

i paid around 25 off cliospares for a brand new black stoplight (as fitted into the 172 spoiler etc.) as once the bulbs go its pointless to even try and fix them. i'd take it off and see if all the wiring it intact first.

  172 cup'd extreme
the 3rd light doesnt just 'go' the electrical connector gets corroded and stop its working sand down then it will work again
