Radiator Question

I was followin my mate last night when his car popped and steam went everywhere. We thought it would be his head gasget gone or summit but when we looked at his radiator we could see straight through it and the all the cooling fins had litteraly blown out. What would cause that? sh*t radiator or would it be something else?

Overheating !!!! MAJOR overheating !! His thermostat is probably stuck shut or something !!

Good just be a ropey radiator, remember cooling system is pressurised so radiators sometime do go in spectacular fashion, although the massive amount of steam make things look more serious than radiator, get a new one, refill with a 50/50 mix and see. This is especially true if car was running fine temp wise before hand

the radiator fins were probably just that corroded that the coolant pressure just blew them out.
