Recess fitting number plates...Question

From Dan'(revels) Post and Dan(Fubars) post are people getting 84mm height plates or closer to 90mm as dan said below..

That pic of Pauls car is that a 84mm plate or 86/87?

Picky but wanted to clarify, pics welcome. Has anyone got borders on the plates...

I went for a 90mm height, think that if you added the border on it the text would be notably smaller so more likely to get pulled for it.

90mm fits the recess fully. The pic of Paul's car is 84mm.

Personally, I bought an 88mm plate... but haven't got round to fitting it yet.

Was going to say Dan, by the look of Paul's it is a bit smaller than the recess which looks OK. Need to order up one of these myself as and when I have the time.

I got 83mm, wasn't keen on it at all when I first got it, the gaps either side of the writing look crap. Grown on me a little bit now though:

Get 90mm, fills the gap perfectly and the writing is a better size too.
