Haha, I got all excited then thinking I'd been spotted but then I remembered I didn't drive there.

Did you manage to see much of the rally? I was marshalling on the Shanks (stage 5 & 13) at the spectator point (7). Brilliant rally as always.

LOL..next year will be better tbh as i didn't know much about it. I headed up to Wark at first, but continued on further following a convoy of cars. Parked up and got talking to two lads from North Scotland! I ended up walking 1/2 mile through a farm, over walls, lost my shoe a few times in bogs etc. It was like walking in the desert where you got to the top of a hill and there was another!

I heard 4 cars, got there, then after 30mins of waiting was told it was cancelled as there was an accident.

Walked back with a couple i met ( this time on a path!), drove back to Bellingham, then to Wark, paid £5 to park, walked a mile to get to that stage, saw 20 cars and had ended for the morning! So could either wait 4 hours in the cold or go home....i went home lol!

The map on the website was useless, and only saw 1 sign all day :(

Seems wierd to say but i'd have regretted not going, even though i was annoyed. Met some nice people and got some photography tips!

I bet that was a bit of a pain, but still, like you say, you'd regret it if you'd not gone. And I know what you mean about it being boggy. I had an unexpected mud encounter too.

Its so desolate in parts of Kielder. We camped on Friday night as we had to be up at 5am on Saturday. Once off the main road we drove 10miles into Kielder and set up camp at the side of the track leading to our stage. We had 3 4x4s, my step dad's Forester Turbo (hell fire he can make that thing fly!), a caravan, marquee and my 2 man tent inside it. Once we'd figured out how to put the marquee up and finished it just after 9pm we cracked the beers open and got the gas on for some bacon and sausage buns. And we had a generator and extremely bright floodlight running from it.

Fun times, especially as 3 of us were up drinking and messing around 'til after 1am. Getting up after less than 4 hours of massively broken sleep to then take everything down and head onto stage was not fun. But it's always the same and its always worth it.

You're right though, it was bitterly cold. And the fact that about 1/2 the spectators in the afternoon would not take any notice of us and the 'Prohibited area' signs was extremely annoying. We actually got the stage stopped and called Ferestry Comisson out at one point because a bunch of inbred bafoons that had ignored us decided it'd be a good idea to start a fire. We then went down to talkl to them with Forestry and they started arguing with us. One of them in particular was close to getting lamped by me, but I bit my tongue.

It annoys me because its the minority of idiots like that, that spoil a great day of motorsport for the rest of the people there.

Sounds like a right laugh! The problem is that people were like sheep, always following each other, if 1 person went in a prohibited area, so did the others!

Just watched it on Sky Sports, saw the place i was stood :) just about 2 hours before i was there! You'll have to give me some inside info for next year! Where to go and stand etc.

Arite WH173?! Do you ever get to Croft for any of the racing? I was at the Jack Frost Rally a couple of months ago, was a good day. The Rallycross is normally a good laugh as well...
