Renault Clio Sport 172 ph 2 + All extra's/ 03 plate with 69000

I've just recently bought a Renault Clio Sport 172 03 plate for £3995, from a private dealer. The car came with full service history which had been carried out by renault, and 1 years warranty. However, it's done 69,000 miles, and I was just wondering whether this is good or not for an 03 plate. People keep telling me this is below average mileage, but I've recently looked around on Autotrader etc and seen 51, 01, 02 plates with 50,000 odd miles on the clock and they are going roughly for the same sort of price!.....Do I have anything to worry about??? :-S Good nice answers please lol.....

P.s - car did have a full major service before I collected it, which included a cambelt and water pump change!

Paid a bit too much imo... My 172 (52 plate) will be up for sale next month, 50k miles, FSH (mainly Renault), cambelt done etc. Will be putting it up for £3k ono.

Yup, all being well... Phoning up tomorrow to speak to Richard about the deal. Before its set in stone, I want to have a look over the terms & conditions and all the info about the deal to make sure there isnt any hidden charges etc or anything that may put me in a pickle.
But, fingers crossed, come the first week in December, I will be on my way to pick up a brand new 200 Cup

Off topic from OP, but is Autotrader the best place to put it on? When I do put it up at the beginning of November, id want it to be sold well before the 200 arrives so I dont have to worry about it...

Don't say that cos I'll start worrying lol!.....Well the bloke from the garage I bought it from did say they have an offer where you're allowed to extend the warranty by 1 year for an extra cost of £150, which I'm starting to think may be worth considering :S Are they good for reliablity after say 70,000 though???.....Baring in mind I only do around 6/7,000 a year, and really look after my cars

As long as you're happy with the car and it runs fine, I wouldnt worry too much about how much you paid tbh... Warranty will do you very good aswell, RS parts are very expensive

To put in perspective, I bought mine in February this year for £3.5k. It was on 42k miles, cambelt already done etc. And mines the satnav edition, not that it really makes any difference in price...

I'd say you have yes but you haven't been shafted. Plus it's from a dealer so it's always more expensive than buying privately.
As long as it's been serviced on time and well kept you should have nothing to worry about, having said that it is a renault and they do have problems.

I'm happy with it yeah, but I'm just thinking ahead.....like how much it's gonna be worth when I come to selling it, and how reliable it's going to be during the time that I have it etc! All my mates have got 172/182's with really low mileage on the clock, and I'm jealous

For reference, I paid £3800 for my 2004 182 (both cup packs) on 80k miles with FSH & every tax disc & original receipt etc etc.

I feel I paid too much but it drives fine, has been serviced properly (kind of, the PO opted out of changing the aux belt!) and is in good nick so I don't really mind.

Maybe your undervaluing yours a little? Mines like yours but on 88k FSH etc and I'd be wanting 3k for it if I sold it. Maybe I'm dreaming though...

My 2003 black 172. 69k, cambelt done but not really proof, service history, small dent in rear quarter. £3100 with 6 months tax.

Though def get the warranty! It'll be cheaper over the year

Im just going on what ive been advised its worth. Also, I wouldnt want to put it up for say for example £3.5k and it doesnt sell. Id need it gone before the 200 comes tbh...

Its great how cheap RS Clios are getting though.
