I just traded in my 52 plate Clio Dynamique for a X reg 172 at a independant dealer, and i paid the settlement figure off on the Clio (about £1600,) would the indy dealer have paid off the car to RFS(who i had the finance with for the Dynamique) so i would not have to do anything, because i was just checking my balance today and it looks like the RFS finance has come off (172 finance doesnt come off til 21/12/03), any ideas or reassurance please!!!

Its your responsibility to pay off the finance to RFS, or ensure that the Dealer had paid them on your behalf. Id give RFS a ring a bit quick.

payment from dealer to RFS went throught the very same day that RFS were due to take the money out of my account! hows that for bad timing?
