Renault Laguna BTCC Super Touring Track Car Project

Incredible work, what colour is the interior being sprayed? Same as the exterior to make applying the decal pack easier? Or is the exterior going to be full wrap?

The interior is going the same grey the supertourer was painted in. The exterior is staying green and then the decal pack

So a little update today. Interior paint is done and it's looking good!

Now back to the workshop to begin the engine swap.

Still looking for a well specd gearbox if anyone has one for sale. Ideally with a gripper diff and final drive sorted.

Will you be able to reach the pedals with that seating position?

So because I like a project and clearly don't enjoy having spare time alongside the laguna I've also been building my new showroom/ photo booth over the past few weeks and obviously the laguna was the first car in there yesterday.

Today its been wheeled next door to the workshop and its time to start pulling the engine and running gear out.....here we go.

What do you do? I’m tempted to have something done just to go in the waiting room

Apart from being green and the cage being similar, do you have any "supertouring esque" plans?

Love the idea of a green mk1 on gold wheels. It's going to look great.

We will see how it pans out. For now it's pretty much going to be built to a high track spec with the super touring livery.

I think it’s a shame that the Laguna’s rear end is no more sophisticated than a clio or megane, but I guess this should still be more capable than a clio in medium speed corners due to being able to fit much wider tyres?

How much do mk1 weigh?

I've got a car sales/ garage business mate. I built that unit as a photo booth/ handover bay. I am absolutely not a joiner or a builder and hated every minute of building this 😂
Where are you based and what do you sell?

Absolutely bloody love this!
Glad to see this on the forum getting the love it deserves!
Any plans to do anything BTCCesque to bring the rear suspension ratio closer to 1:1?

UPDATE.....of sorts.

So basically the laguna has taken a back seat recently as my work has been mad busy. However this doesn't mean I'm lacking interesting motor related content to post.

I've been sourcing some cars to import and I'm sure there are probably lover's of these on here so thought I'd put some photos up.

And finally I've managed to purchase a car which I have been after for a long long time, after selling my PH1 years ago I always wanted to replace it but it has to be with something special. Well today I collected this 54,000 mile Sunflower yellow PH1 and I absolutely love it!

Usual laguna content will return ASAP I promise. But in the mean time at least this is something pretty to look at!

Weirdly I'd never had much interest in them until recently. The yellow one is a very special car but i also really like the originality of the white one.

My all time favourite hot hatch is an EK9, if only they were the same price as an EP3 😭
That PH1 looks mint too, great colour!
