Replacing OEM dashboard tweeters in 07 197

I want to replace the tweeters in my '07 197 as the OEM ones sound plain nasty!

Some posts have have said it is possible to remove them without resorting to a dash removal and others have said the dash *must* be removed!

So far, I have managed to prise the tweeters about 5-10mm above the dash, but no further. I can see loads of potential clips underneath that I have attempted to release but nothing makes the speaker give!

I am loathed to remove the dash, since it's I don't want to introduce any rattles in it.

Please help!

Hi, I have changed tweeters on a standard mk 3 a long time ago and they come out ok. You do not need to remove the dashboard, Renault instructions say remove tweeter cover and remove tweeter thats all. I fitted pioneers which were a wee bit tight to go in. Hope this helps a bit

Once you pulled the tweeter cover upwards, did it twist off or what?
