I also picked up my head and block from a local engineering company after being bored and cleaned and I'm very pleased with the results. Highly recommended. They also gapped the rings too.

So after a few hectic weeks at work i've finally managed to get a bit of progress with the build.
Pistons and Rods assembled

I have also checked the crank to see if it's balanced and it is in tolerance so now I'm just waiting on some big end bearings which after I have got them I can construct the bottom end :D

I'm liking this! You based in Devon? Not many turbo'd clios at all down here I'm building one myself and a guy in exmouth called chris too but we're both going down the megane piston route

Thanks mate :) I'm in Taunton and I'm pretty sure I was sat opposite you Friday night at the Harvester, if you have an RB with recaros and turinis...?

Bit of an update:
Pistons are in the block now, a few problems were encountered on the way such as a new crank needing to be sourced and new bearings, but it's in the right state now.

I've also lapped all of the Supertech valves now into the head so that's now ready to be bolted on the the block and be assembled with the cams etc etc.

I've also purchased a few gauges just to monitor certain aspects of the car when it's running. These are a Exhaust Gas Temperature sensor, a boost gauge and an AFR Wideband Sensor. They are quite pricey but inevitably could prevent another engine failure, so worth it in my opinion.

Where did you have the engine work done, Hamlins?

If you ever get in a pickle spare wise, don't hesitate to give me a shout on the off chance as I have loads of odds and ends and would be happy to help if I can if something trivial trips you up on a Sunday evening for example.

Yeah Hamlins in Bridgwater.. They did a top job. Thanks mate, if I ever need anything I'll give you a shout! :)

Had the Exhaust Gas Temperature sensor mount drilled and welded into the manifold this week. Looks awesome.

Also managed to get some time to mount the gauges in the dash. I used a bit of 6mm Ply and some 6D carbon effect wrap to make it look relatively presentable. I've mounted them in the space where the heater vents go centrally and 'gutted out' the far right one so I could still use the casing.

And I had a little play with the turbo and downpipe arrangement :)

Bit of an update, the engine is pretty much built now, I just need to do the belts but they will be done with the assistance of Dan..

During the couple of sunny days we had last week I made some progress on the interior, fitting my new wheel, roll cage and the Recaros with sabelt harnesses..

And finally, I came home from the action day at Castle Combe to find my injectors had arrived and some carbon trim I ordered.

Hopefully getting the engine in this week... hopefully :)

Finished assembling the engine today, clutch and gearbox are now on along with the loom. Been a long time coming but it's finally ready to 'drop' back in the car. Thanks to @Dan@SJM for all the help along the way, couldn't have done it without you.

Thanks mate, hopefully see some progress on yours too soon!
Fingers crossed mate. It's getting on for 2.5 years now since I was last able to drive my Trophy for 'fun' or in anger. As you know, I didn't even get a chance to drive the high-comp build properly before things went wrong so I'm looking forward to this one being done and spending some time behind the wheel!

2.5 years?! I'm starting to get irritated after 9 months! Well at least you know it's in safe hands now :)

So the engine went in today! Was a good feeling to finally get it back in the bay and looking like a car again! Thanks to @Stopherson for the help. We discovered a few issues such as the downpipe being too close to the oil return from the turbo which I'll have to overcome but it isn't too much of a problem. The next step is to work out boost hosing routes and to finish connecting ECU. Looking to get some more done on Thursday so watch this space :)

Quick update, PMS A/C delete kit mounted and belt ordered. Coolant hoses put back in along with the radiator. Speak plugs, leads, inlet and cool pack fitted. Had some help from @Irbone yesterday with a few little bits and the routes of the boost hoses. They've now been ordered and the car is booked in with Phoenix Exhaust in Cullumpton for the exhaust system.

Next job is sort out the gauges, sort out a few little bits and wait for the bits I've ordered. Starting to look like a car again!

It's getting there!

Tidied up the dash this week, wired in all the gauges and replaced the dashboard...

After:

Then last night it was off to Phoenix Exhausts for some measurements :)

Boost hoses arrived this week, plans are to finish wiring in the ECU, install the PH1 Fuel Sender and return line, Pipe up the intercooler. Getting close :)
