It's an old Ford. He's making it better.

If it was something decent, then you'd have a point.

I think it's great, but it's no show fairy.

You like cars with bumpers stapled on and you don't think that is decent. :(

They dont have a limiter as standard, and if you have a good one they do rev well, but there isnt muxh point in going over 6500

no its crap lol!

That engine above ive bought and picking it up on sunday

1800 Zetec-E Silvertop Series 2 (Mk6 Escort GTI engine)
68k miles
inlet & exhaust manifold
Flywheel and Clutch

100quid y0!

The reason ive gone for this over a 2.0 is you need the flywheel, sump, oil pick up pipe and waterpump off a escort/fiesta 1800 anyways so really ive got the best 1.8 engine and if i decide to get a 2.0 if the right one pops up its just a case of swapping the stuff over...

Oh and these arrived soon as i got home -

my mates doing a similar conversion on his, we took the head off his CVH and it turned out to be fucked so he wants to do a 2.0 zetec conversion

  CLIO PH1 172
ohhhh this is looking good, would love to have time/space/money/expertise to do something like this!!!

my mates doing a similar conversion on his, we took the head off his CVH and it turned out to be f**ked so he wants to do a 2.0 zetec conversion

yeh think ill still get a 2.0 and swap the stuff over as said what needed form the 1800 above, then re-new cambelt, piper 285 cams and ARP rod bolts... with twin 45s should see 175bhp & 140lbs/t ISH on a 2litre! probs would see 160bhp &130lbs/t on the 1800...

ohhhh this is looking good, would love to have time/space/money/expertise to do something like this!!!

cheers, i still need the expertise on engines really, will just have to learn bit by bit after sunday :D
