I thought the worst at first, thought here we go. At first I thought I was me being stupid lol. Hence why I removed the shock to have a go but no it was stuck haha. It's great that Josh has managed to get that sorted for me. Couldn't have asked anymore to be honest. I'll be sure to take the camera to get some photos down at AST :)

Good result mate. ..

I know not bad really, would be better if they would have just been fine but at least there going to sort it ASAP :)

Bad news and good news all in one go. Not bad getting booked in that soon though!

Your right there Rhys, nothing has been simple on this car haha one day a job will go to plan haha.. Yeah I know it's great have Josh to thank for that :)

Nothing is ever easy on French cars. I swapped the top dash in my Clio the other day for another Mk2 Ph2 1.2 dynamique. It somehow doesn't quite sit right around the centre console. Mental.

Why did you swap the dash top mate? Yeah it agree with nothing ever being easy though lol. Every job that gets done in this car seems to create another :)

I swapped it for an identical dash in near mint condition...But just around the centre console display there is a slight gap. It fits perfectly everywhere else...

Not been on here for a few days, been abit busy. So last Friday I was booked in at AST to get the right rear shock sorted out and have the car set up. Was an early start to get down there and took about three hours with traffic. Anyway I arrived, had a brew and a chat to Curtis and James, within no time at all they had the rear shock sorted. One of the washers that seals around the damper adjustment knob had gone faulty, so that was sorted. Had another brew, whilst they waited for the ramp to get the car alligned. Only took a few photos on my iPhone but here they are whilst it was being set up

managed to get it all set up with no issues. it's been set up with 3 degrees negative camber on the front and 6mins toe out :). All in all I'm very happy with it now, not been able to really test the car on the road yet but it feel amazing. It's abit of a handful to be driving in the road with the toe out as any sort of groove or off camber dip in the road and it just wants to follow those haha. Currently running the shocks on full soft and the ride is fantastic allot better than standard. And with all the traffic on the way home it took a joyful 7hrs to finally get home after leaving AST lol.

Well ill that's the car pretty much done for Oulton now, just the brakes left to do which I'll be popping on one night next week and bedding them in. I've decided to go for Ferodo DS1.11 pads again as they were recommended by josh from when he raced his megane and they have performed amazingly well so far and Brembo HC front discs.

Roll on the 16th :)

Just ignore me, no idea why I asked that as I remember reading you were taking it there.

:banghead: Haha yeah. I was going to take it to Blink and that's where it was booked in but AST said they would sort it out for me as I was down there anyway which was good.

Well I've not updated this for a few weeks, not really done too much as it was all ready for Oulton apart from the brakes which needed replacing. Since the update there have been no issues with the car until now..... But I'll get to that in a little while, first the brake :), really easy to replace on the megane once they have been off before :). I stuck with my previous setup of Ferodo Ds1.11 pads and Brembo HC discs, they have always worked well before, so why change what's best :)

first up up was to remove the calliper by removing the two Allen key bolts that hold the calliper to the hub, then removing the little retaining torx screws that hold the disc onto the stub axel.

removed the disc and replaced with the new shiny ones :)

So Oulton Park, the car was Outstanding all day.... Most of the day :). The grip was Immense, the car has totally been transformed. I could have asked for more really, the steering was sharper, the car was 110% more planted, the little body roll the car had has been reduced. Overall I'm really please with the performance of the AST's. Anyway time for the few pictures I've managed to get hold of from the day :) (will post more up when I get hold of them)

so yes, all was fine with the trackday, had a great day the weather was fine and the car was fine.... Or so I thought.

Nearing the end of the day I noticed that I had some Cv grease on the wheel, not a major issue it just looked as though the clip had come of. I didn't take the car out again so I didn't go ruining the driveshaft. At the start of the day I realised I couldn't adjust the rear adjustors on the coilovers, so I had to tape up some grips some could turn the damper adjustors. After looking at the cv boot I noticed that something wasn't quite right with the passenger front shock, got the light on it and saw that the helper spring has snapped, which has ripped the protective boot over the rose joint in the topmount, damaging the retaining spring for the boot and scoring the damper. I've also noticed that the spring has been catching on the metal seal at the top of the strut casing which has damaged that (this has happened on both sides) not too sure what has caused any of this yet, I need to ring AST tomorrow, but I'm sure they will get it sorted out :)

in in this photo you can just about see the damaged helper spring, damaged boot, damaged retaining spring for the boot

Bloody hell you're not having much look mate.

You don't seem to be having much luck with those ASTs :dapprove:

Car looks great though!

cheers Tim

nope I'm not :( I'm sure Curtis will be able to sort something out as the rear adjustors are too stiff to turn without grips, both front socks are damaged on the strut casings and the passenger front helper spring has snapped.
