Rolling Road/Remap Results.. Opinions?

  Teg
Run an oil catch tank, does your car produce any blow by, check you intake. Also throw out the aircon, a/c systems place a not insignificant amount of drag on the engine, you don't need it anyway
The car does breath some oil.. Not sure if it a normal/healthy amount or not as I know nothing about Renault/F4R engines. I do roughly 6 or 7 track days a year so the car will benefit from fitting one. On these engines is it just a case or remove the black hose from the induction hose and fit it to a catch tank? Anything else to plumb in?

Wouldn't mind removing the A/C as I never use it anyway... Might have to look into it to see how much work is involved.

If your getting that much blow by, might want to get a compression and leak down test, and get a specialist to recheck the timing and ensure its dialed it.

Factory claim is 182bhp DIN. Which is 176ish bhp ISO when converted from the ISO KW figure of 131.5kW stated by Renault 5% either side of that is standard for a mass produced engine. Renault didn't lie the DIN figure is just another way of standardising power figures. Remember PMPO outputs for stereos in the 90's!! Forget all this PS malarkey for the Clios that's just magazine rubbish.

hi guys,

not sure where to post this im new to this and don't really go on the forums etc, but you guys seem to have experimented more on the dyno with a number of cars with various mods but all very different power figures etc.

I have a 182 cup as a track car fully caged and striped out only mods engine wise is a self made air con delete kit, k-tec panel filter and k-tec decat pipe running standard software, I don't know as to what power the car is but a mate of mine has a 182 running 186bhp mods are yozza sport k-tec decat pipe and panel with a remap hes had this one more than 1 dyno and made same power both times so I would say its a true reading his car has only done 40K from new and is a minter so must have been a good one from factory. on track however our cars are indentical in straight line speed and acceleration fare enough mine is slightly lighter, Im planning on having my car mapped for hopefully a bit of a gain, not so much power wise but more linear power on the curve and make it more responsive, im just wandering if matching the inlet to the manifold is this worth doing as some posts suggest its not worth it and others swear by it.

Ive had mine matched, along with scorpion exhaust, decat, was mapped to 190.3.. so worked for me

I think I will get them done then, that's good results Adi316
You will struggle to see 190 on realistic rollers without cams or ITBs. You won't get it from induction kits and exhausts or a bit of port matching in afraid mate. On some rollers, but not somewhere like RS Tuning or EFI.

Its true your figures will vary from engine to engine but not impossible to get 190 from breathing mods. An just so you know my figures arent from "some rollers" was mapped and dyno'd at rs tuning.

To make 190 at RS Tuning you must have some engine work done or cams or something surely?

Lol i understand scepticism, its not common. Engines roughly on 150k. Its gt a phase1 airbox with cold air feed goin to washer bottle area, matched inlets and a scorpion rs192 exhaust with straight through centre section. No cams or any other engine work.
