Had a call from accident exchange earlier saying that the other parties insurance have accepted full liability.

Just got to wait for an assessor now and see what they say.

The insurance assessor came today.

He said that the car is in very good condition and thinks it’s very possible that repairs will be authorised.

Just got to wait for him to do his report and the he said that I may have to get a couple of quotes to get it repaired.

Fingers crossed.

I’m not too bothered if it gets written off because I just get it repaired anyway. But if they authorise repairs it means I can keep the mini until it’s back on the road. Where as if it’s a write off I’ll be without a car for weeks until it’s fixed.

Mine was a definite write-off, so that was sorted pretty quickly, but I dread to think how long the liability business will take. Got a letter from her 'solicitor' claiming all sorts of nonsense, so I can see mine lasting ages.

The quote for repairs I got back from an estimate I arranged. Huge amount of work.

Also weird that you got an estimate after the assessor looked at it.

Idea is the estimate let's the assessor compare costs with the value of the vehicle. I written off cars within 24 hours of accident for years now! Weird.

Initially took ages because the insurance company were apparently carrying out indemnity checks.

I got the estimate because that’s what accident exchange told me to do mate.

I’m fully expecting it to be declared a total loss tomorrow. Just want it sorted either way now tbh.

Al the drug dealers in E14 got smart, and moved into car insurance.

Car is a write off as expected.

The offer they’ve made is pretty derisory so I’m waiting to see if they are willing to increase it. I’ve sent screen shots of quite a few of similar or lower spec cars being sold privately for quite a bit more than they’ve offered so we will see what happens.

Looks like I’ve found a replacement car and if all goes to plan I’ll be picking it up on Friday.

It’s another Clio. I won’t go into details as I don’t want to jinx it.

I did consider a Meg but a 250 is the only one I’d consider and they’re just out of my price range.

100% got to buy it back from salvage. RECAROS alone will be worth it. Ask insurers the value as soon as possible so they don’t dispose it in the meantime.
