RS 182 Trophy Welsh Weekender

Thanks to @Tim. for organising the trip and pulling everything together and Jim for providing the PDF itinerary (which came in extremely useful). Despite the little hiccups here and there, it didn't detract from what was an excellent weekend. I wish I could have been there in Trophy #165 but it will have to wait until next year. However, the Type-R did me proud as a perfectly capable replacement :)

Here's a selection of photos I took over the course of the weekend.

Great pics.

Wish I could've made it.
Thanks mate - it would have been great to have you along.

Great pics! Looks like was a good weekend.

Must have freaked a few passers by out. 7 or so identical clios passing them [emoji4]
Yeah, Dan - it was a fabluss ;) The looks that the group were getting were amusing. As I tagged along at the back I was able to watch folks' reactions and they were literally stopping in their tracks to watch as they went by. WHilst driving through Rhayader, the traffic even stopped to let the group through :tonguewink:

Great photos Andy, wish I could have made it as planned, until #185 decided to kill its alternator days before.
Cheers, Keith. It was a real shame #185 spat it's dummy out prior to coming out to play. You would have really enjoyed it and been most welcome :) I have a feeling there may be future Wales drives...

It probably sounds silly but i like the fact that none of the trophy's are uber clean and that they all look like there driven by mature drivers rather than young youths!

Pics are cool
Thanks, Jekyll. And thanks for referring to some of the group as 'mature' drivers rather than 'old farts'... hahaha! I totally agree, too. Despite a few of the Trophys being 'garage queens' and pretty mint low-milers, it was a pleasure to see them being pushed and enjoyed as they were intended to be.

I must admit I was really tempted to bring mine down but Wales is miles away from Sunderland.

Must admit I'm pretty jealous of the roads, I was based in South Wales years ago and have been round Brecon and Rhayader loads of times. One of my favourite roads was from Brecon to Builth Wells over the firing range, I would love to get the Trophy over there.

Anyway like everyone else has said great Photos Andy, I will make an effort with a more central meet next time.

I really hope so!! It was an amazing weekend with such a friendly bunch of people. My cars caked in dirt and I love it! Haha!

Was gutted, was on way from farm as it decided to be a b**ch. Keep me posted on any future Welsh drives :) Will get little red running healthily soon enough and hopefuly will have a newly turbo'ed one there too :)

Aw mate, it is a long way but it would have been worth it! :) You could have crashed at my place for an extra night before the long journey home if you'd needed to! No excuse next time... hahahaha! As you say, you know what the roads are like and they are ideal for the Trophy. No pressure of course. See you at the next one!

Don't worry, there will be more. You're always welcome back to Wales, even if your Trophy isn't standard... :tonguewink: As for the dirt on the car; wear it with pride. It's as good as any wax. Allegedly.

I wish I could've made this now! 😧

Whose is T28? That place was on my car when Nik bought it new.
It would have been good to have you along mate. T28 belongs to @- Fiona - :)

Not to worry mate, these things can and do happen unfortunately. At least you're quite local to some of the stunning roads anyway! As said, there will be future drives and #165 will most definitely be making a showing at them.
