Running Cold air feed for BMC

  Golf R32 & 172 CUP

On a full fat 172 (mk2)

I know this is a mission in its self, however is it achievable?

I have got a pipercross cold air feed (well two of the red metal end cups at least) is it possible on the 172 to have it in the front grill or does the aircon/rad get in the way!?

Any help much appreciated.

Hi mate, dont think you will manage to get it to the grill. I ran mine to the fog light but have recently moved it to the bottom of the arch liner....so under bumper pickup, prob best to be carefull near puddles tho.

Do you have the standard pipercross pipework? if so bin it as its rubbish...neither flexible or long enough! Get yourself some new stuff from demon tweeks or similar, the Green caf seems popular.

Its achievable....just takes a bit of effort ;-) lol. Also make sure you remove all the standard crap inc the butterfly type valve thingy. Good luck :)

My BMC inlet (valver) is approx 83mm so getting some ducting from Demon Tweeks and running to a bumper in air scoop also from Demon Tweeks when I get round and order the stuff.

Ive tried a million times to get one on my full fat 172 but its a waste of time. There just isnt any room at all!
One option though is to take out a foglight and run it up that way.

I had a result to be fair!

I have used what it the original supply to the O/E airbox, i used the the BMC ducting that comes with it, had a hell of a job bending it to fit but it did and ~Seems to be effective!
