Russ_16v's ITB'd & Caged 182 Track Car (Was Crispy's)

  TrackCar & F30 330d
I'v owned my 182 for just under a year now, It is my first car that i actually own as i'v allways driven my old mans cars for free :)
So here is my sort of project thread of how my first car has been and how it has changed.

So before the credit crunch was here i set about looking for a Clio sport and fell in love with this one. 54,000 miles, ktec ultra performance exhuast, apex springs and it was mint, Had the bonnet and bumper reparayed too i think. All for £6000

It was in birmingham so my mate drove me there and i picked it up handed over £5,500 :) and then drove to leeds to my mates house. a 300mile journy to leeds and then back home.
Obviously i spent every other day washing it making it look nice.

In the first week of having it she got two new Exaltos for the rear and i started up grading the brakes as they were Shocking and my foot would hit the floor when i braked hard.
Brembo Max discs
Green Stuff pads all round ( which are rubbish )
Groodridge braided hoses
Castrol 4.1 fluid
IMG_3263.jpg

newbrakes10.jpg

newbrakes14.jpg

Bought it all and fitted it with a mate only to find the claiper carrier slider had sezed and it would not budge at all so i eventually found one on the bay and all was good. much better than before
OCD kicked in after a few months and cleaned the arches and painted the calipers as they were all different colours

Eventually sorted out my 21st birthday present from my family about 8 months late tut tut - the numberplate
DSC00929.jpg

And got the use of the garage while there was only one car in it.
DSC00991.jpg

First things i had to buy to keep her legal was a new rear numberlapt light cluster as the bulb had gone and the pervious owner had glued it shut. -£13
Also needed to buy a Cat as it didnt come with one - £50 Mot wasnt due for a few months so kept the decat in.
DSC01022.jpg

Then I did Abingdon Airfield trackday with my mate. It was so much fun. the green stuff pads were fully rubbish. But the trackday bug was caught and my placement years wages were now going to be spent on new mods to make the car handle better instead of binge drinking lol
IMG_2774.jpg

IMG_2777-1.jpg

IMG_2778-1.jpg

The apex spring were useless on the track so i searched and saved and ended up buying the H&R coilovers from Rob off here. Practly brand new. I met rob at powerstation as he was getting AST's :( (i wanted them too)
DSC01081.jpg

DSC01059-1.jpg

Scooby on the dnyo :)
DSC01067.jpg

And some random bird getting her T*Ts out. Very nice ;)
DSC01070-1.jpg

So after getting the H&R's i fitted them in the PIS*ING rain. and it took me my mate and old man about 5 hours lol
IMG_3411.jpg

IMG_3441.jpg

IMG_3444.jpg

The coilovers were fantastic, turn in was better, it rolled less. Deffently money well spent.

Then i went to my very first meet which was mint as i'd not really seen many Renault Sports all together. Met some nice people and recived some good comments about my car :)

IMG_3629.jpg

Drove 110 miles to see the bird in bristol and there just happend to be a meet ;)
Schweppy made me rev the car like a right chav too which seemed to please some people lol :)

I was bored on weekend so i bought a tyre pen and did this

MOT was now due so i hed to bodge the cat on. It took me at least 5 mours to get the decat off and about 3 hours to put the cat on. To add insult to injoury i couldnt get off my drive as the cat was now too low. I ended up just driving off and nearly loosing my cat and exhust. It pass the MOT which is good but booked a visit to the main man Charlie at prospeed for a custome decat and cat jobbie.
about 150miles later -
IMG_3648.jpg

IMG_3649.jpg

IMG_3654.jpg

It took him longer than he expected and he ended up giving my GF these.
IMG_3650.jpg

Charlie = Legend. Top top man, everyone should go see him.

Bought some Carbone Lorraine pads (RC5) from Kam racing and fitting them for my next track outing at bedford Autodrome.
Rear seats were stripped so i could fit all the stuf in.
DSC01529-1.jpg

I'm sure this was the weather when i left my house
DSC01448.jpg

This was the weather when i got to bedford :(

Lost a few hours play time but never mind.

Another coinsidence that there was a meet when i said i'd come see the GF in Bristol.
She came too this time...and was bored lol. Track wheels on while i was poloshing the 182 wheels.
ClioMeetBristol002.jpg

ClioMeetBristol003.jpg

ClioMeetBristol016.jpg

The rear wheel bearing was so loud that it was louder than my decatted exhaust so new bearings had to be bought and thought i might as well get new discs.
IMG_2755-2.jpg

IMG_2762.jpg

More did follow ;)
IMG_2763.jpg

IMG_2768.jpg

Track wheels back on for a bit of a play
vgbhjk.jpg

Went to powerstation to the rolling road meet thanks to Burp :)
DSC_07081.jpg

Out come was 184.6bhp which was quite generous i think.

I decided to clean my "standard" air filter. Turned out there was a K&N filter allread in there. So i gave it a little clean and removed the CAF's and Accoustic valve. Bigger CAF are coming soon.
IMG_2810-1.jpg

I do think removing the valve makes a difference. well it did to mine, but could be in my head.

Went a bit mad and ended up spending quite a few hundred quid on detailing gear.
IMG_2777.jpg

I bought the RS Tuner Remap box from the group buy too. So much easier to drive when cold and love the new 7,500rpm limit :)

Last thing i've bought is some new 4 Point Sabelt harnesses. They are fantastic and so comfortable.

Matched Inlets

Brake cooling
New Box oil
Solid top mounts
Cage/harness bar

Sorry for the silly about of pics lol :)

Re: One Year on & £3000 spent

I forgot to add this too.
I spent 3 days detailing the car in my GF's garage. Took me one day just to get every last bit of tar and cr*p off and then a day to polishe it, and a day to seal and wax it.
I should have taken pictures then as i'v now done 75 mils and the car is quite dirty now.
Yesterday i decided to put my Carbone Lorraine Pads in all the time as the green stuff were annoying me they were that bad. Also as is summer the track wheels and tyres were put on again lol

Yeah the badges will be put back on when i next wash it i think.

Nice, Good Read That.

Where did you get the foot rest from?

I got the footrest from a lad off here. He was making them just before Christmas. Looks much better now as its sort of dulled up so it looks like the other pedles
