So when we getting the R27.R then Renault?

Surely the R26R is an outgoing special in the same spirit as the 182 Trophy. With that in mind I think it's unlikely there will be an R27R for quite some time. Still, it would be nice all the same :)

I'm sure Reanult will bring out a new beefy Clio, especially with the new focus RS on the horizon....

After I put my old 182 in a river I ordered a 197. I owned it for 6 weeks and decided to buy a Trophy. Read into that what you will...

But as for an 'R27-R', RenaultSport will eventually develop a hardcore 197; it's inevitable. They did it to the 172 in the form of a Cup. They did it to the 182 in the form of a Trophy. They did it to the Megane in the form of the R26-R.

I am not so sure the R26 is outgoing. Next year the titanium exhaust will be an option for the R26. There seems to be plenty of life in the car yet.

You enjoy Sailing?

The current Megane is entirely outgoing, its replacement schedued for launch in october in Paris.

I'm not so sure about any R26.R options creeping onto the standard car.

Jeremy RUK over on Renaultsport.co.uk confirmed it in the 'ask the experts' section. It does seem a little weird; the Megane is due for total overhaul. But it would seem production will continue into 2009.

Did he? Oh well, i stand corrected.

The RS cars are built at a seperate factory from the standard megane (as is the CC) so its not a problem to continue production.

Just odd that they would devalue the R26.R by offering its options to all.

Surely the BIWs come from the main plant though? Sooner or later they'll dry up. Splitting hairs I know, but as it's you ;)
