straight through centre section gains

are there any?
just bought one to go on my 172 ph1 with a magnex back box.
going to go with cat bypass and a viper induction kit.
will i gain anything or not.
next jobs are inlet manifold matching then get the head flowed and a re map?
what sort of gains should i expect from these changes if any?
sure there are plenty of people who have done the same!!!

Why do supersprint race exhausts make more power than the road one with a center section......its not a lot but it makes a difference..

you may gain a bit of throttle response, but like anything, to make the most of it, a remap will help loads.
 
I beg to differ Ben, otherwise why did Renault Sport make the Grp A exhaust for the mk1 rally cars with a tiny little silencer and the rest straight through?
 
Guys, a racing system is a different animal from a road system, or even a sports system.

If you have an exhaust system which compramises of 3 silencers, then remove a centre one and replace with a peice of pipe, there are no real gains. A silencer of perforated tube and fibregass wool is basically a tube. Gains over road systems occur with silencer removals because they tend to be chambered.

Evogone, SS's race systems are a larger bore than their road systems.

Try it, the small centre section silencers are already 'straight through' and absorb next to nothing.
