Strange creaking noises (182 Cup)

  133/225/CLS AMG
My missus Clio 182 Cup has been making some odd noises and is booked in for it to be looked at under warranty.

It seems to make a slight creaking noise, not when driving at speed but at slow speeds. If you creeping over a speed bump or when parking and stopping slowly.

The car was looked at a little while back due to a creaking noise when on full lock to the right and moving.

Any ideas?

The car is an 05 reg on 12k miles. :D

Could be a couple of things...more than likely a leaking shock absorber. However, i had a similar experience, got two new shocks under warranty, only for a creaking noise to appear again. it turned out to be the boot lock and a spray of wd40 did the trick.

I wonder if it was a shock absorber but I'm no mechanic!! lol Its going in next week to be looked at, hopefully they won't try and pull a fast one and say its not covered.

My mums Focus had a faulty shock at 2 years (20k) and they said it wasn't covered under warranty. Lets hope Renault don't try and pull the same on an even newer car.

Mine does that.

You mean that's a "fault"?

I thought it was just a "Renault".

Next you'll be taking it back and complaining that there's rattles in the dashboard.

But, seriously, the rubber bushes in the suspension do that.

i'm asuming the noise is coming from the rear of the car...take a look under the back and see if there is oil / fluid leaking down around the shock cover. spray some wd40 in around both sections of the boot lock and then take it for a test drive...i'll beat you thay's what it is...it was doing my head in for ages and renault said they could see or hear anything wrong.

The weird thing is its hard to tell if its at the front or the back!?! I even stood outside the car as the missus rolled it back and forward and couldn't hear it.
Haven't noticed patches of oil either, which we did when the Focus shock went.

One of the bushes had to be replaced when it was looked at before but I'm wondering now if they even bothered to do it. Considering there was some loose trim that we asked to be looked at and that wasn't done.
