Stripped the rear last night...

  200 FF Storm Grey
Lets just say I love how it's changed the car :D

In terms of weight, there aint a great amount there but including the bar I reckon thers a good 40-45 kilo there, which seems to of a made a nice difference through the lower gears.

No rattles either, I suppose with less things there is less stuff to rattle?

But it's the noise that's making me smile, the sound of the yozza just fills the car, so much more than when I had the seats in, sounds so raw and just as a hot hatch should.

Plans are to fit a red rollcage and get it professionally carpeted, until then I'm just going to buy a large boot net from halfords to fill a bit of the space

Def recomend doing it (on the 2.0's)

Also can anybody please advise me on how to go about taking the seatbelts out, I went to do it but then noticed a wire feeding into them, what's the best thing to do?

You need to put a resister in the block to stop your airbag light coming on the dash, the same type you would use for the airbag plug in your steering wheel.

Its something i'm definately going to try when I get my 172. I think that to make it look realy good you need some bucket seats though. Having a stripped rear then two armchairs up front doesn't quite make sense to me. However money doesn't grow on tree's and I would do it with a long term plan of getting some buckets.

As soon as mine isn't a daily driver (hopefully not long) i'm going to strip the rear, and fit some buckets/harnesses, smaller steering wheel etc.

Yeh agree that it needs buchets but it doesn't look silly i'd say having the standard leather sport seats in there, especially when it's carpeted to match it'll look right, I'll prob get the buckets closer to christmas time, want to focus on the outside first (exc the cage)

Any size resistor will do mate?

3.3 ohm fella

edit well any value from about 2.7 ohms to 4.4 or something...3.3 ohm is easy to get though (maplin or similar)

ok cheers matey, not had a proper look at how it's setup yet so might be an obvious question but where do I find the block? Is it under the car?
